Meaning 'Black Dawn' in Latin, Aurora Atra is the Elder Scrolls Online division of the DawN gaming community.

We are a mature guild with many years of MMO experience. Based in the EU, we are English speaking and the average age of our membership is about thirty.

We are all dedicated gamers but the number one rule of our community is that real life comes first; although we do well in raiding and other structured content we don't ask you to give your time at the expense of your social life, job or family. Other guilds may get the 'server first', but we will get there soon after and with much lower blood pressure.

We are a PvX guild with a loyal community of people who try to get along with as little drama as possible, supporting each other in-game and building a friendly atmosphere with plenty of organised guild activities. We will be looking to build up a strong PvE and PvP team and are currently searching for like-minded gamers to join our ranks.

In Elder Scrolls Online we will be fighting for the Ebonheart Pact, though all races and classes are welcome.

If you are 21 or older (some over eighteens have been allowed to join after an interview) and are looking for a friendly group to share your ESO experience with, please feel free to drop by our forums to learn more or fill in an application form.

Each member of our community has an overall rank, depending on how long they have been a member and how much they have participated in the community. They may also have a separate rank for within their game division.

Each of our game divisions deals with their member ranks differently, and in ESO we have decided to use a rank system based loosely on Norse culture. Yes, Skyrim had an influence on this decision, but we are here because we love the Elder Scrolls series as a whole, and chances are that if you're reading this then you do too and you won't hold it against us!

So, the ranks we have chosen are as follows:

Thrall: Everybody starts as a Thrall. It's the equivalent of a 'recruit' status.

Drengr: Once you have been active in the game for a short time, and we get to know you a little you will be promoted to the rank of Drengr. Old Norse for 'Lad' or a young warrior, this is our member rank, where most players will stay unless they wish to take on more responsibility in the guild.

Housecarl: Reserved for members who have earned veteran status, either through giving of themselves to help others or in some other way gone above and beyond the call of duty for their guild.

Thane: These are the guild officers. They create events, lead raids, help out low level players, arbitrate disputes and perform a hundred other small tasks, which when done correctly will likely never be noticed. Being made a Thane isn't a promotion, it's mostly just a pain in the ass.

Steward: Picked from the ranks of the officers (those who were not in hiding or pretending to be busy) the steward is the guilds deputy leader. He or she runs the guild and has the final say on all matters when the guild leader is unavailable.

Jarl: The Jarl is the overall guild leader. He or she decides the priorities of the guild, and leads the guild to it's goals. The buck stops with the Jarl, and so do most of the headaches!
Aurora Atra is the ESO division of the DawN gaming community.

All DawN applicants are expected to read, agree to and abide by the following:
  • I am over 21 years of age.
  • I understand that forum participation is expected of me.
  • I am able to use voice comms (you don't have to talk, but you do need to be able to listen) and agree to moderate the use of bad language if requested.
  • I will be respectful of other members and appreciate that the main aim of our community is to have fun with friends.
  • I understand that my guildmates may call on me for help, if I can reasonably do so I will try my best to assist.
  • I am willing to actively pursue guild goals and objectives.
  • I will direct any issues that I encounter with other players and cannot reasonably resolve myself to a Guild Officer to deal with accordingly. Most drama is avoidable.
  • Above all else, I understand that real life comes first and gaming second.

DawN's Leadership's promise to our members:
  • We will always try our best to listen to your feedback and issues.
  • We will treat you with respect and honesty.
  • We will be as fair as possible in dealing with grievances and always listen to all parties involved.
  • We will not take any action towards a member without discussing matters with them first and giving them a chance to explain their actions.
