Hello….
I got a BIG HUGE desire to learn how well a Bosmer can be a good sorcerer, because I know that when you want to create a sorcerer some times the best option is to go and use an Altmer. Just because their race stats are for being a sorcerer. I was on ESOHEAD playing with some of the builds that I will start on using from the get go as soon as I start to leveling up my Bosmer. My question is, it is wised despite which race is better on doing magic from the other? (even the answer is simple)… all though it is obvious that it will be wised to choose an Altmer?… right?
I have this two builds I create for my bosmer.

I need guidance from people that know a little more than me please. You can see that the weapon skills are equal in each build, because that is my main goal that I choose, but there is a few things that change.

Just level up in magic and youll be fine, the altmer stats are just more of a starter and will only help you a bit more overall but not drastically.

@Rickter & @Lamb of God

Thank you both. I was wondering because I saw in the race stats of the Altmer that they have magic stats and all that. This is me wondering the idea if there is some kind of downside for my bosmer....

The answer you probably dont want to hear is that yes the stats in fact do matter when leveled all the way. we're talking 10% increases in most cases.

with that being said, is anyone actually going to care? yeah maybe the min/maxers, maybe the hardcore Trial leaderboard chasing types, but is that you? do you plan on playing with htose people?

if the answer is no, then you need not worry and just play the game the way you want to ;)

A Bosmer can be a mage as good or better than an Altmer... Sure there's a difference but that really won't affect you... And we need our Boiche Mages ;)...

As long as your a Mer then your alright... Even better if with the Dominion...

The only racial skill that the High Elf would possess over the Wood Elf that would make any difference is the one that boosts the High Elf's elemental damage. The other ones boosting magicka and magicka regen can be duplicated through other skill choices, gear, enchants, and consumables, plus those two categories will have soft caps, meaning that anyone who puts much into them will hit a max ceiling eventually anyways. The damage boost can be duplicated as well, the difference here is that I don't believe there is a soft cap on that particular category, so the High Elf could always edge out the Wood Elf if all else is the same (gear, enchants, etc.).

So unless that 6% elemental damage boost means that much to you, roll which ever one you like the best lore/looks wise, or just feel more attached to, or whatever. Just remember to have fun, because that is what this is really about, the enjoyment you will get from that character.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.
