http://www.buffed.de/TESO-The-Elder-Scro...O-1067053/

you can read it yourself here if you happen to speak german.

So what i find particulary stupid about this interview is that they claim that if there are a set ammount of people in a specific key zone (battle) in cyrodiil, itll lock down in an instance.
I have no idea if this is just their butchered explanation of the Campaign system, afterall germans, in mmorpgs, are that fat kid that gets picked last in sports class, but it is not presented in such a way.
If what this article suggests holds true that would be causing all manner of stupid problems.
Tiny battles that cannot decide shit because the same battle is running a couple of times in the same capaign, large guilds activeley trying to keep newbies out of their battles because in this case more people means spreading the skill thin.
Not to mention the potential server problems that could result out of this.

I realy hope that this just means that the germans from buffed.de are mentally challenged.
Cause if it doesnt, things look dire!

EDIT: According to the moderator on buffed this is indeed not a misconception but the actual plan.
this is not good news! we must act to stop this BS.

I dont speak german, but from my experience german's haw a weird way in dealing with game, and they ruined some of good titles because of there stupid way at dealing with game, a good example would be Tera.
So i really hope its just them miss interpreting the information, and i hope they haw no say in ESO or this could turn really bad.

Yeah this is disappointing news. The part that hinted at the same battle going on multiple time really pisses me off.

Im finding it difficult to believe that.

Lets say there is battle for keep and it goes epic. Suddenly its locked into an instance and as more people were notified second instance goes epic as well. Now in one instance defenders win, in the other attackers...

Someone please enlighten me wtf will happen in the campaign?

doesnt sound like the part. its from an interview.
I wish buffed would have made a clearer statement on the matter.
And ZOS had not said anything about this system before.

Its quite upsetting.

Let me see if I got this right. I don`t speak German good enough, but from what you wrote here, if a campaign gets particularly crowded and long and whatnot, it`ll be locked into separate instances which will be completely independent from the others ? So every outcome could come true !? Dat`s bullshit.

A campaign has a certain amount of time(It can be a month or a week.. they have not said how long it can take) and all campaigns are instanced in a way.

But the problem is that is more of them are instanced, all possible outcomes can come true. As Rage wrote, in one the attackers could win and in the other they could lose. Hence, what`s the point of the campaigns ?

well the campaigns will work like that.
thing is this implies that there are SUB INSTANCES within the campaigns. which is for the reasons stated bullshit.

Also Dr Lizzio while they have a runtime, they do not reset ownership after they are done.

So i don't think its as bad as you all think....more specifically I don't think it will create a case where all outcomes of a battle can and do happen. Basically what it sounds like is ZOS has made it so that 200 or so players can be on screen a once. What happens when more than that start arriving? Problems, would be my guess. While I really hope they don't include this instanced keep fights in the launch version of the game, what I can see it being is a way to make sure the number of players fighting at once is controlled. So instead of making sub-instances of a keep fight, I think it sounds more like once a certain number of players joins the fight, the area locks down and no one else can enter. This would be to avoid lag, frame rate issues, and other stresses on the megaserver. This would be like that area cannot be entered, and so I don't think there will be times where within the same campaign a battle ends up being won and lost by both sides. More like there's a certain number of slots available to join in a keep battle. It's a large number but still limited. While I see pros and cons to this (Pros: perhaps if you die in a large scale keep battle you are removed from the instance, and thus effectively out of thefight, lending weight and gravity to death within suchg circumstances. Technical issues are kept to a minimum. Cons: Immersion is broken by not being able to reinforce allies as much as possible, an entire areasa may get locked off. Plus you could still have a bunch of people standing around hoping they can enter the area if someone dies and their slot empties), the cons seem to outweigh the pros. Really hope ZOS fixes it for launch, as this kind of thing would really drag down something with so much potential.

No. its bad.
Do not try to justify this nonsense.
its BAD.

What kind of BS is this? how do you want to have a peresistant Campaign if the outcome of the SAME battle is different at the same time?
How does that work? tell me?

Right. it doesnt.

The locked off thing is stupid too. I mean come on. DAoC didnt have this. Why do you have a technical restriction in a game that has not been there years ago?

So what you are saying is that we should have one campaign? Cyrodill with 20,000 players?

If they claim they can achieve a stable Mega server I don`t see why not.

I am pretty sure the server can handle it but do you know how stupid it sounds just imagine the Pvp area being overcrowded.. ridiculous, with your logic Cryodill can have over a million players..
