Some screenshots from the recent interview video:

Based on racial stereotypes alone, I'd say this is an altmer. [Edit: probably breton.]

Beautiful! No more flat noses!

Ehh... bosmer? [Edit: probably altmer.]

Now, this is a bosmer if I ever saw one!

Again, based on stereotypes, I'm guessing breton. Also note the architecture in the background.

To be continued.

yeah the orc is absoluteley atrocious.
And im not sold on the argonian just yet.
The Elves are particulary ugly. Not counting the dunmer.

But the Nord is quite kickass and the bretons do the job.

also the first one looks like a breton to me.

The Argonian one gives us 2 questions: 1. why do argonians live in Morrowind and 2. do they also build Mud huts in Black marsh, a place where it constantly rains?

Why, this mer looks quite dun!

Another dunmer. Note the white sclera (I think the previous one had those too).

This looks like a return to Oblivion's khajiiti. Also: cat legs! (See especially the blurry khajiit to the left.)

A pretty nord.

And here's the pariah folk. This one was disappointingly nondescript, in my opinion. Hopefully they can be made to look more interesting.

Last but certainly not least: a female orc.

It's a bit hard to tell, I think. But they do seem less ugly than in Skyrim (which is a loss, in my opinion).

I hear ya!

You may be right. But in that case altmer would be the only playable race [Edit: except redguards] not featuring in a screenshot (unless the praying guy with the beard is one).

1. Settled former slaves?
2. When I saw that building, I immediately thought of termite nests which, according to Wikipedia, are constructed out of "a combination of soil, mud, chewed wood/cellulose, saliva, and faeces".
On the other hand, it might be a rock formation, some form of vegetation, or something else entirely.

id generaly say all the races look alot closer to how they looked in oblivion.
i am quite upset about the eyes of the dunmer.

They already got it right in skyrim and people liked it. why do they have to make it less interresting?

EDIT: by ugly i mean not looking as intendet (as in: ugly by human standarts)
They look too legolas.

Also im fairly sure the elf with the Lute is supposed to be an altmer.

Quite so, although there were at least one dunmer with white sclera in Skyrim: Karliah. Her eyes were odd in several ways, though.

Agreed!

Yes, that would make sense.

I agree with that because a bosmer with a Lute is just wrong, but compare with the other bosmer image, sadly, they look the same

I find the grey of the Dunmer is neither the grey of Oblivion nor Skyrim. They look just like pale humans to me. And red eyes? The hell! And no lines or shrinkles under the eyes.

I hope they will make the Altmer look more other than the Bosmer. Of course Altmer are the tallest and Bosmer the shortest race, but I always found it hard to tell between them. I want them the Altmers in bright gold so that I can tell.

And the fangs of the orks. They are to thin, seeming like needles to me. And also male orcs leave their mouth a bit open because of their large tusks so that you can see the lower row of front teeth.

But have strong hopes for many facial traits sliders. It´s the player job to make good looking chars, it´s the developers job to not screw up the NPCs.

And the Nord reminds me of Lord Macintosh ;)

Who controls the Septim crown?
Who keeps the Allesian Heresy down?
We do, we do

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?
Who keeps the Dwemer under wraps?
We do, we do

OK
Everyone said that the orc model is disappointingly, but compare with the first ones:

Now is a lot better, and I doubt that is the final version, of course that need to be improved, but they are doing a good job so far

Like I said, it need to be improved, but ZOS will not do a lame job on it, they improve so far and the final version will be as it should be, well, at least that's what I hope

The orc's not that bad, sure his head looks a little less orcish than the version we had in Skyrim, but it's nothing to cause someone not to play the game. Zenimax released these pictures like this so that they could receive feedback from the community. If you don't like what they've done, stink up up the forums with negative comments or you could just message them on facebook or twitter or send them a letter or an email. It worked for "true TES first-person animations," it could work for character models.

It's heading in the right direction, for sure. There's still work to be done but it's good to see that they are listening. Like you guys said, if you compare the first WoWesque Orc to the new one, the improvement is huge. Same can be said for the Nord (amagad) and the Dunmer are turning out nicely as well, they just need red eyes. For those who get into the beta - this is part of why you are there. Not just to hunt bugs, but to also give feedback on what's implemented and what you, as a gamer and a TESser, think about it. Make sure to voice your opinions.
