So i was reading.

"You don’t have to hold down a button on your mouse to look around, you just move your mouse." paul sage said in the interview.

So how you click the hotbar? by taking your hands off your running control's it is W'A'S'D isnt it? and clicking 1-6? I'm kind of doubting the combat system now.

How to you guys feel?

Well if you move with your mouse your other hand will be free to press buttons the answer is in you're quote! I personally have never clicked on any hotbar ever, it's slow and can't be timed as good as pressing it with your fingers. There's only one mouse arrow, but you have multiple fingers.

That's actually the opposite, WoW is what I was talking about, in WoW in order to be successful, at least in PvP, you have to obviously use macro's and keybinds and mix many moves into each other, I never once in my life clicked a move with my mouse and most PvP'ers would destroy anyone who would because it's just simply not as fast and other people would be dancing around you hitting you 5 or 6 times before you even have time to press 2 moves. Also moving with your mouse gives you optimal control of your character, you can turn as fast as you want instead of pressing A and waiting a couple seconds for your character to turn completely around.

Going to be interesting to see how this works out. hope they can pull it off

I think it's great, at least so far, it's less button mashing and macro making and more timing and quick reaction. Don't get me wrong, in WoW PvP you had to have plenty of reaction, but the reaction time was big because of cast bars and global CD's, There are none of those (at least to my knowledge) in TESO.

As you said yourself, there's only 6 skills on the hotbar. Keeping the mouse solely for looking around and having the skills usable only by hotkey seems like the logical choice to me. After all, it's not hard to just reach up and hit the skill really fast when you're not worried about memorizing a bunch of crazy macros. There's no need to have to use your mouse to click the skills.

Also, having to click on the mouse button to turn the camera takes a button that feels more fluid for a different action (aka attacking and blocking, two things that are imperative to have easy and instant access to in the combat style).

I don't know about you, but making you click the mouse to turn only adds more hassle to something that should be as simple as breathing. With people moving all over the place on the battlefield, having to click a mouse button to turn just adds more hassle to something that should be made as simple as possible. I want to be able to swing at people AND keep them in my field of view at the same time effortlessly.

Having you turn around every time you move the mouse and keeping the mouse buttons for attacking and blocking is, in my opinion, by far the best way to work a game like this.

Excellent. I was hoping GW2 would do this but they didnt :(
6 hotkeys will be easy, even for "clickers" to adjust to.

Has anyone watched the Anime called Sword Art Online, it's based on a Virtual Reality that locked players into an MMO for an experiment/s. The Combat system from there reminded me of what I saw in one of the video clips about combat. You hold down your attack and *no magic required* the more you hold it down the more damage it does, I'm just wondering if this is the case in TESO.
I would be really interesting combat system if so.

I don't think all abilities will have to be used through hotkeys. I remember hearing/reading something about double clicking, or clicking your right and left mouse button together would use a different ability.

I love this. Clicking abilities is just bad, if you really can't hit 1-6 on your keyboard while holding down W, then you could get a razor naga, which has a number pad on the side of it, so you can hit 1-6 with your thumb on your mouse hand.

A RaZoR NaGa? Hmm I'll have to buy one if they do have that in the combat system..
Would be classic to see a Reactive Active system like when you dodge or riposte an attack you get a special reflex attack.
