Well finaly news.

Too bad its written in the style of one of those lame self help books. "100 ways to keep yourself entertained in that piece of grabage we made"
Starting up: explore cyrodiil. No shit ZOS, thats the best you could come up with? i want the money back i could have earned skinning squirrels during the time it took to read that paragraph.

Wow dodged a bullet there. I almost thought there was something innovative in there "Guild Quests"
But no. they are just the fighters and mages guild nonsense we know already about.
"Hey check out this totaly new cyrodiil exclusive feature that we told you about 2 months ago that you can also do anywhere else without getting ganked like a stupid noob"

Just saw this on the main site, was gunna let everyone here know. Some very cool things in there. Stuff for everyone to do. It really seems like they are taking DAOC RVR and improving it. I like some of teh stuff like crafting items there, and that is the ONLY place where some certain crafting stuff is found. Said the zone is huge so you can do your own thing away from the keeps and hot spot and shouldnt get hastled too much. I like that there are dungeons you can go in there but so can enemies so you have that "watch your back" feeling.

It also looks like keeps will be more forified like in DAOC and actually mean something to hold. In GW2 they are exchanged like baseball cards , sometimes in minutes, and there seems to be no meaning or any kinda pride for a guild controlling them.

Not sure why u think that zone is a piece of garbage, ALot of people have been wanting a RVR zone like that for years, some thing that makes it feel like you need to protect your lands from invaders, and gives you the feel of alliance pride

Im sure there will also be inncentives to do PVE there, like better gold, and exp, or even drops. thats what DAOC does in its RVR zone. Also they did state there was special craft components that could only be found there

fair enough, they said the next half of that article will have the siege and keep control mechanics, so that should be some good new info

well see about that.
they already said quite a few things about that.

The only thing that i could think of beeing interresting is having secret entrances that maybe could be opened with lockpicking (but alert the guards and players if the lockpicking fails)

So all the small caves and mines are public , looks like adventuring and exploring in Cyrodill isn't an option without a decent group then lol .

Edit ~ Also sounds like once your alliance takes control of an area then NPC guards will patrol that area for your alliance , probably not new info but I haven't heard about that before.

Edit 2 ~ Off topic . Is the site running slow for anybody else by any chance? it is taking ages to load for me lol ....

@Sordak I remember reading from a PAX article that lockpicking is in PVP, you have 23 seconds to attempt. Also being attacked drops you out of teh attempt. said something about 3 to 5 spinners and you need to find the click on each to get teh combination right.

@smithy With decent stealth skill im sure you would be fine solo in the caves and mines if you need to hide. From what they said about these they have an oldscool feel, so you can come in and probably have lots of safe spots where you can pull, and safe spots as you work your way in. but working your way in deep would be difficult and probably require a group, or for you to atleast somewhat follow what a friendly or enemy group has cleared before they respawn.

Yes this site is running very slow atm

The only things I am not very impressed by are;

Repeatable quests - I do understand why they are there, I just never really liked them, it gets kinda old. But I would still like to see how they pull it off, it could be good. Also not a game breaker.

The earning reputation with the mages and fighters guilds by doing this one thing. Again this could be done good, but I'm not sure about.

All in all, im happy with what I read.

There's something I think you guys missed. It was just a small little thing, barely mentioned, but the article said that you could take quests from NPC's because they're neutral to players, but if you're in an enemy keep or town like you guys said there will be enemy patrols. This I think adds something completely new: infiltration questing. So you level your sneak enough you COULD theoretically sneak your way into an enemy town, bypass the guards an start taking quests. You would hafta be really careful not to gtet caught. But it coul be just an extra challenge if youre craving some dificulty while questing. Also adds that whole 'I'm an agent behind enemy lines' feel, starting up guerilla warfare on your own or in small groups.

Fight for something to die for, because living for nothing really isn't worth it.

yet, we still don't know if the faction locks will even matter at all, cuz they might be removing the faction locks entirely.
