As there were two comments regarding food in the Thu'um box today we thought TESOF needed a cooking thread! Feel free to post your favorite food, pics of it, recipies how to make it, etc. Ok, this thread will probably die out very quickly but I'll start.
My favorite food is Chicken Broth... Baxters. It may be simple, tinned food, it may not be lobster served with white truffle and a cream sauce, but it's my favorite food. Pic.... Unfortunately couldn't find a pic of it and couldn't be bothered to stand up and go into the kitchen to take a picture myself. Oh well, next time you head over to the local Spar look out for it!
There, I started this thread of, it may be closed down, but oh well...

Also, anyone who can find the recipe for sweetrolls will get many likes!

Holy Jebus, someone actually made Salmo's Sweet Rolls? Must have.... :o


Favorite foods? Well for starters, anything involving red velvet. Whether its cake, pancakes, cupcakes, ice cream, etc... I am obsessed with red velvet. :P

Giving this lovely thread a little bump:
While watching a Korean drama I noticed their lunchboxes always have these cute little rolled egg omelets, so today I made some using the help of this youtube video:





I made the classic one in the video, I think I'll make omelets like this from now on! Good for little hands/children!

So what I like to do it cook come bacon extra extra crispy to crush it into bit. Cook a small tube of pork sausage. Cook 5 eggs into scrambled eggs. Mix it all together and set it on a low heat burner just to keep it warm. Cook 3 pancakes about 8 inches diameter. Put pancake on cookie sheet, ragu sauce it, put the eggs, pork and bacon, top with shredded cheese. Repeat twice more, adding even more cheese on top. Set in oven set to 400 degrees for about 10 minutes to melt the cheese. Pull it out, drench in pancake syrup. Triple decker pancake breakfast pizza achieved. Feeds 4-6

It is so lame, but I love hamburgers and I love to cook them for people and try all kinds of new and inventive things.

My base burger that I cook for people is just me taking some good quality ground beef (sometimes I lean sometimes not) seasoning it and making 1/4lb patties then I throw those guys on whatever I am cooking on whether grill or skillet then I wait till the burgers are ready to be flipped put on whatever cheese is the preference of my guest personally I like cheeses with a kick then when the patties are about medium rare to medium I remove them.

I also usually lightly butter some whit bread hamburger buns and cook those a little bit get em toasted. Other than that though not much to it unless I decide to get creative. I really like George Motz he wrote a book about hamburgers across America and many times I will take concepts of regional traditions and try to incorporate them into what I make. Examples of odd burgers are ones with chili on top or a combo which is a burger that has sliced hot dogs on it and a few other cool things. =)

Other than that I also love a good pizza which I can make an okay one, but prefer to get it from someone who really knows what they are doing. Btw awesome sweet rolls and pancake pizza is insane man...it blows my mind now I have something I must try.

When you cook your burgers, you should try adding a little worsechier sauce and a good amount of saracha sauce (can be located in the ethnic food section of you grocery store if there is one). You should add enough saracha for the meat to take on a slight orange tint. Cook them like normal and top with pepper jack cheese. Makes a moderately spicy burger, a neat twist on the classic burger

I have actually done something really similar to that, it was suggested by a friend of mine though some of the components were a little different. I actually will try that btw Ilove Sirracha its pretty awesome actually. They sell it in almost every grocery store now cause it gained a lot of mainstream popularity randomly.
