Anyone else excited about the crafting information released this week? I am super excited to see all of that information because I tend to be a support player with crafting as my major interest, Real life takes away my availability to raid most of the time. :) But that is okay. Thoughts? Comments? on the crafting system? I hope it is extremely engaging and interesting!

I love me some crafting!

Its sounds like what I was hoping to hear. This approach isnt entirely new though. Regardless of what people may think of other aspects of the game, LOTRO had a very similar crafting system in it. It inlcuded many levels of recipes as well as ways to aquire the recipes and ingredients. It had a decent variety of levels and classes in the gear that was crafted, including "epic" weapons that were customizable with the addition of runes for desired effects. I havent played it for a year now, but I did enjoy the crafting in it very much. I thought they did it better than alot of other recent attempts.
If TESO expands on this concept and adds their particular touch to it, I think theyll be going in the right direction for crafters, adventurers, and warriors alike. Good crafting systems have an impact on most other aspects of the game, incuding combat and economy. I know Im extremely excited to see the crafting side of the game.

The part I liked about that interview and crafting was that it sounds like if you find some magical weapon or armor you will be able to use crafting to make it better then it was when you found it. Crafting augments would be cool indeed.

Augmenting armour and weapons would be great.
I really don't want a preset of recipes, I like discovering stuff on my own.

I would really like to see this. I want to be able to have an Alt char that is soley a crafter. I would use him to craft things for my main and to make some extra gold by selling my wares to others. I don't want the best items to be looted. I want the best items to be crafted. If I want to make an amazing sword, I think I as a blacksmith should build the raw blade, I would need to pay a leather smith to build the hilt for me, and an enchanter to add desired effects. It could still be a good weapon as a raw blade, or with any one of the afformentioned upgrades, but it would need all three in order to be great. This would help the player economy and social aspects.

I would also like to have my high level main get mats from pve to mail to my low level crafter to use. My crafters level would stay low because he wouldn't be involved in combat, he would just be in the big city crafting away. Unless raising your craft skill gave you exp points. That would be awesome

Great responses! Keep em coming. Do you think that they will put a lvl cap on crafting like wow did? Where u cannot advance crafting without upping your level? I do agree with the comment above where multiple people are combined to create a quality weapon. It might just be me but I would like to see a feature where a person can only do one part of the process, such as you cannot have 4 alts and do it all yourself , but actually have to involve other players. Would help boost the economy!

if they dont tie crzfting to level...you will have lvl 1 resource harvesters camping spots for goldfarming organizations.

They at least seem to the right thoughts concerning crafting. NOw the important part is that it doesnt get scaled back launch.

I too like the idea of a char that is built for crafting but I think he needs to have a certain amount of skill to go out and get his materials. I also like the idea of it taking multiple people to craft the high end items. This brings up a couple questions though.

Being able to craft things with one char and use them with another, would depend completely on the banking and in-game mail systems. Ive played games that you had to have someone act as a go-between to transfer things to other chars and its no fun at all. It really ruins the crafting system enjoyability. Im sure the devs have thought of this, considering how important they say crafting will be, but it'll be interesting to see how they deal with it.
