- Thanks to MMORPG for having the interview, which me personally was really thrilled to hear. About time we had something on crafting! Happy

The key points to crafting are as follows

There are 5 different crafting traits, Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, Enchanting, Alchemy, & Provisioner. Armorsmith for me fosho. Tongue_out_laughing

You can name items you craft.

You can improve items that you find. That being even the real epic items in dungeons and such, which me personally didn't even think of, but I love it!

You don't have to specialize into any one crafting tree, but to specialize into something you have to invest into it. Expected, but I much prefer this over being completely limited to one thing.

Customization & Experimentation of item characteristics depending on how many additives or what type of additives you put into the crafted item.

Customization of appearance in the item. That includes being able to take already made item and change their appearance to some degree.

well thats PR talk
you do kinda have to specialize or you wont be able to make the best stuff.
but you could technically make a jack of all crafts. it just wouldnt be all that smart.

Well, as he explained, I think those who are more interested in getting materials and such for the specialists will be those who go the more general approach. So they'll be able to get the required materials for sorts and then the specialists will be able to work with those materials. So, in a sense, a "jack of all trades" is meant to be someone who is more trying to make money through selling base materials.

Customization of the look? That sounds cosmetic, I wouldn´t mind to have that as pay content. But we will see.

Who controls the Septim crown?
Who keeps the Allesian Heresy down?
We do, we do

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?
Who keeps the Dwemer under wraps?
We do, we do

Why would you say that? Shouldn't everyone be able to have full access to crafting? I would say let payable cosmetics stay in a shop not related to crafting, but that's my opinion haha.

When I tell people there's cooking, they look at me and go, "cooking is so dumb what is that going to do?" I tell them it gives you buffs of some kind but I can't say what kinds for sure. Has anyone heard what buffs can be obtained through provisioning?

If you recall back to WoW, special foods (and people could craft these) would give stat bonuses & such. I would expect bonuses to health, stam, magicka, and probably certain skill bonuses too. Pretty much anything you buff will be a thing to be able to buff if you're a cook. Which, to me makes someone who goes down Provisioning probably the easiest to solo with through the game. Not to mention I can see the use in some kind of "Fire Wing Stew" that gives fire resistance or something before a dungeon. So, I'd expect there to be a lot of different buffs, though to achieve the great ones you'll probably have to experiment & be a higher level in it. =P
