As halloween is just around the corner, Zenimax was kind enough to give use a sneak peak behind creating the werewolf

Thanks for sharing this cadian13! I'll just bump this up to General Discussion...

I like the horrific maddening savagery look of their model, really gives the sense that this creature is a killing machine not to be taken lightly! It's a lot more gritty looking than the earlier werewolf model. Unfortunately I think some people may think it has more similiarities to a tasmanian devil than a wolf, the snout seems somewhat short.

Well, it seems like this is 100% proof that players will be able to actually transform into a werewolf instead of just getting little side perks.

Likely not, as the Vampire Lord is an ability that is exclusive to the Volkihar Clan of vampires in Skyrim.

But so rises the question: Will vampires be only useful at night?

Probably not, but maybe for Nords or other members of the Ebonheart Pact

No. It would make, one race OP and likely flock to said race in droves as it would be a cosmetic upgrade.

damn thats a downer

I can only see nords being able to be vampire lords and no one else if they add the other types of lycanthorpes to the other factions like wereboar for dc and werevulture for ad but i highly doubt that will happen

Vampires probably get their own special things. Fangs and changes in skin tone and eye colour for one will probably appear after a significant amount of time has passed as a vampire.

Look at it this way: werewolves will get a massive change in appearance but only when activated. For the rest of the time they look like normal players. Vampires may get several smaller changes but which are permanent and never go away so long as they remain a vampire. Those fangs and such mentioned before could possibly be one example.

Now, as to the werwolf, what I'm curious about is this: will a character's customization affect the look of the changed form? Sadly I will make a WoW reference here, and i am loathe to do so, but one thing i thought was kind of cool was being able to customize not just your human form but your werwolf form. Sadly the human form had even less than the already-bare bones customization WoW had, and the majority of customization was on the wolf, but with the amazing customization we have seen in ESO i wonder if that won't translate into being a werewolf.

Not that we should have another window pop up asking us to customize our new werewolf form, but could choices you made in CC possibly affect how your wolf form looks?

Fight for something to die for, because living for nothing really isn't worth it.

i think it would be neat to incorporate your characters customization into the werewolf form, ie short werewolves, tall werewolves, muscular, thin, ect. I'm not sure about fully customizing the werewolf form only because I don't know how they would be able to smoothly add the customization option.

Maybe some kind of special instanced quest where you go through the dungeon and bam, you break down and start transformting with a nice little in-game cinematic, player lets out a pained yell and BAM! Time stops, camera rolls and werewolf customization begins as you tansform for the first time. completng customization would let time continue and blau your a werewolf!

Actually if they did something like that, I might go werewolf just to see that, as it would be sick as fuuuuuuuu. But i'm not sure of the chances that ZOS is going to do that in any capacity so ya. Basically, werewolf customization if they can execute it right, if not, then just base it off the initial player customization somehow

They probably won't allow you to manually craft your werewolf form seeing as how that's (potentially) a lot of variable during the transformation that the devs need to work around while still keeping it as awesome as they say it is. It would be odd to have a really tall/fat character transform into a really short/skinny werewolf and would be interesting to see how they manage to make that still look good. I can certainly see it being based off of your character with things such as height, musculature, narrowness of face, etc., even if it's generalized (like if your character is in the x-y range in height, your werewolf form will be z height).

But yeah, some kind of personalized werewolf appearance would be AWESOME.

That sounds really badass. You have a lot a good ideas :p
I hope that being a werewolf won't suck. I almost never used it in Skyrim because it was always either really OP and made dungeon crawling a simple milk run, or it was near impossible on other occasions. I just don't think I ever found that medium when I played as a wolf. I just kept it for the resist disease. "Is that fur coming out of your ears?"
