I apologize if this is cleared somewhere else, but I came to wonder.
The Imperial City is the target of the qonquest, however there are towns such as chorrol, kvatch etc. which are also within Cyrodil.
Would these be considered side-conquest targets/safe-zones to resupplie/ zones to resupplie and getting pk'ed while shopping?
Thoughts?

Argonian 'Shadowscale Omelet', selfsuppliable food source.

please, this goes at all newbies. take your time to read the FAQ. Yess there will be other cities, in fact on launcht he imperial city will be locked.

You can siege and defend the other cities and all the keeps around the map. The cities will have significant benefits but will take alot of effort to take.

I don't know for sure, but, I'm hoping they'll be contested areas that are conquerable, like the Imperial City, and instead, allow people to restock at keeps and such that their alliance controls, putting money into guild who captured the keep (that would be kool), but anyways, more keeps/towns, more convenience for where you can stock up.

I could be wrong but I got the impression that an attack on the Imperial City was not just a single "event". That the struggle to take and retain hold of the city is an ongoing effort. Which leads to the other towns and resources or Cyrodil. I think those are areas that can be taken and occupied by forces or all 3 factions in order to gain footholds into the area. In other words, whoever holds the Imperial City will have a tough choice to make. Do you fortify the city with everything you have in order to try to keep it or spread your forces throughout Cyrodil. If you isolate yourself, it is possible for 1 or both of the other factions to capture a very large portion of Cyrodil and thus strangle you out by not allowing resources or other players into the city.

Sordak,
I can appreciate the fact that you gave an answer to the question but the condescending comment about newbies was a little un-needed. Since the game has not even gone to any public testing phase, everyone, not counting the people who may work for the company, is a newbie. It was a simple question that took a simple answer. No harm in that.

This is the impression that I get as well from the interview I've watched and reviews I have read. And I think that this style of PvP will lead to some interesting battles.

I'm also gonna have to agree here as well. I believe that the "newbie" comment was unnecessary. But I'm not a mod so not much I can do about it. While I know you, Sordak, have been here for a while, others have not, and I believe it goes against the "feel" of the community Tecca and the other TESOF team members are trying to build here.

That's just my two cents anyways. Happy

Thank you Arch!

The tone could be improved upon, but reading the FAQ (Tamriel's for instance, or mmorpg.com's coverage) generally ain't a bad idea. What we additionally would like to try is staying on topic and not getting lost in an argument. Winking

Thank you All!

The Imperial City isn't conquerable at the launch, it will be opened at some later date. The first campaigns will be fought "just" over the control of rest of Cyrodiil, including towns, and the three factions will have their own areas of Cyrodiil already at the beginning of the first campaign. After each campaign, these areas will not reset, but factions will not gain what they have lost but can keep what they conquered.
