Faction & Race:
Daggerfall Covenant (Breton)
It surprises me that we, on this forum at least, have the least amount of followers. I think that out of all the factions that we are the most well rounded. We have Orcs, strong brutes standing second tallest in Tamriel after Altmer. They are not only strong but are know to be the best smiths in Tamriel as well. We also have the Redguards whom are known for their expertise in blades. Probably the best sword wielders in all of Tamriel, they are also decent in archery. Then there are the Bretons, half-elf half-man. They excel at magic, they can also take a hit from magic and only have small amounts of it actually damage them. What with strong Orcs making the best armor and weaponry, the Redguards utilizing these tools and the Bretons dominating in magic it is surprising to me that we lack members, which worries me when TESO actually releases and we will probably be outnumbered.

Tell me your thoughts, correct me if I am wrong on something like the Redguards being best swordsmen or Orcs being most skilled smiths. Thanks.

The two worst strategic mistakes to make are acting prematurely and letting an opportunity slip; to avoid this, the warrior treats each situation as if it were unique and never resorts to formula, recipes or other people's opinions.

I agree, and I think after the game is released, there will be a shift in the numbers, right now the numbers are subject to a lot of change. I think our numbers are so low because only one race in the DC has had game in its own province, and the other two aren't mentioned much in any of the previous ES games.

We'll see when casual players get into the game. Many prefery playing humans and DC is the most "human" faction. That and the irrational hatred of Aldmeri Dominion makes me thing it will replace AD as second most popular faction.

The only problem with these accusations is the fact that most people find our races, "boring". I'm not surprised we have the lowest population of all the factions. Many ES fans love the Nords and Dunmer for the games they were featured in, and the Argonians are strange beast creatures with interesting back ground. The AD has elves (which many love, including myself) and kitty cats. Who would not want to play as a cat? :) Then you have us, Bretons = boring genaric human race with little lore, Redguards, Arabian Africans, and Orcs and their small little mountain kingdom and all its dinkyness. (yes, I know dinkyness isn't a word).

You must look at it from the perspective of person untouched by Elder Scrolls universe. Orcs are very popular in gaming community, especially among MMO players. Yes, Bretons personify the generic humans, but there is large amount of players who dislike playing elves and outlandish races like Khajiit and Argonians, for whom Bretons are first choice. Then there are Redguards, who are so badass they don't even need to be popular.

Yea, there is a lot of band-waggoning going on right now amongst ES fans that played skyrim and morrowind. AD definitely wont be the biggest, and DC I so much more well rounded than either of the others. Even if we are outnumbered, we will surpass the other factions based on our collective skills

After the appearance of Ninja assassin Eizo Breton, Daggerfall Covenant had gained a good amount of:

1. Kids, that believes ninja assassin rogue type classes are cool and edgy
2. Players that has never played any MMO
3. Console players
4. Assassin's Creed fans

And I believe that these type of players are going to be the downfall of Daggerfall Covenant. They think that they can apply their single player badassery in a PVP settings. Ya know, sneaking around and slitting an unaware AI's throat.

Yeah, the super ninja Garret Breton was a little weird. That was not at all what pops in my brain when someone says Breton.
I'm not worried at all. I'm hoping DC will be the most stable, as the majority of pvp speds seem to be elsewhere. Not that I have anything against PVP, but you know many pvp folks are twitchy.
Maybe stable is boring.
Personally I think DC has the three most badass races from TES. If we had the traditional racial abilities we'd be insanely overpowered.

Im still a bit on the fence between Ebonheart Pact and the daggerfall covenant. Im usually a person that absolutetly hates elves, but the Dunmer have managed to intrigue me a lot, and I also like the Nords as its a heritage and viking like culture that I can relate to my own country (Denmark). Then again Ive already travelled across Skyrim and Morrowind and Im more interessted to see High Rock and the society of the Bretons as I havent played Elder Scrolls Daggerfall and like the more or less feudal society it seems to be. The fact they have elven heritage doesen't really bother me as they are to me more like humans adept at mage than actual despiseable elves. Regardless of race, Im currently turned on a Thief/Mage archtype class, and this is independant of the Breton in the trailer because while he was badass I find it too overrated because it can rival Rambo.

We have the most generic "fairy tail" races. Many MMO players will be drawn to Orcs and Bretons because of their general appeal to the MMO crowd. Additionally, the Redguards are the only "black" race in ESO (playable races anyways).

FYI Don't worry about being outnumbered. I'm playing as a EP on my main, but have several ideas for DC characters. And if they ever allow you to play Khajiit as another faction I'll have Grrwarr join DC. DC will probably be a huge alt character choice.

Why is this so bad...?

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.
