Destruction Battle Mage

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering what I should do with this build.

The race for this build is Dunmer and the class i think the best for it is Sorcerer.

What you guys think is the best for it with weapons? One handed sword and shield or a destruction staff?

I hope that there are some people that can give some tips or skills for this thanks!

A sword and shield for tanking in one hand and a big two handed weapon in the other for DPS, or you could have a staff. Remember to have a decent mana/health/stamina spread.

You can use 2 sets of weapons and switch them around in combat so Id go for a destruction staff with a melee weapon of your choice.
As for armor you can of course choose heavy or medium.

Personally Im still trying to decide whether Im going to roll a battlemage or just an ordinary mage.
That depends a bit on how the skillbar works out. Currently you can only place 5 skills on your skillbar so you'll have to fill that up with both melee and magic abilities. I feel 5 abilities is a bit too few for a battlemage but I guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out to be.

Edit: apparantly using the weaponswap will switch around your skills as well so youll have Access to 10 (12 including ultimate) spells. Happy times

I have the same thing with whether I'm going to roll a BattleMage or just an ordinary Mage.
Maybe even a mage with a bow, but i like the idea of a Battlemage. I think I will be a Battlemage with a destruction staff and a shield and sword.

The weaponswap is something amazing!

I like the idea of battlemages as well but from what ive seen 50% of the players are going to roll a battlemage :p

But then again you have different battlemages. You can alsowear medium armor to be quicker in combat and take daedra summoning to summon pets in stead of destruction.

Yeah there is so much choice! You just have to find your way in the game.

Maybe even destruction stuff and a restoration stuff for healing yourself and allies.

But yeah we will see when the game is out but it's good to know which way to want to go.

I would go foe full Melee for a battlemage (Dragon Knightd use magic ad well btw) the heavy armour is the trademark of a melee user. Being at range in heavy armour wastes it's protection value.

Abilities that snare or stun at close range or area and come effect abilities would be your best friend. Add a few weapon abilities to make up for your magicka pool and you're set.

Also all this talk on battlemages and still no one has seen the stealth mage potential of the Nightblade. I repeat all classes use magic.

If your focus is destruction staff over class skills, Dragonknight offers the best passives regarding such build. Screw stamina nodes, spike that HP & mana.

bwadark, being in heavy armor at range would make you a formidible force if you happen to start an archery duel


Which is more difficult: To do as you wish? Or to have power and choose not to?
