"Vaba Do'Shurh'do": It is good to be brave.

Name: Do’Arta
Epithet: Do' - Warrior
Race: Khajiit (Cathay)
Sex: Male
Age: 23
Religious Views: Do’Arta maintains that his people’s explanation as to the creation of the world and the gods is wholly accurate and that whatever other races believe is nonsense. He prays to each deity of the Khajiit pantheon as and when he wishes their blessing on his undertaking.
Political Views:
Occupation: Mercenary, Wanderer
Faction: Aldmeri Dominion

Appearance: Do’Arta is tall and well made, standing 6’2 and carrying 220 lbs of lean, well exercised muscle. His fur is tree bark brown with black stipes. He possesses striking golden eyes with a vertical retina, like many of his kind. His ears are lined with simple earrings, bands of copper, iron, silver and steel. Many of these bands have been forged from the weapons of his fallen foes. His mane of black hair is strewn through with feathers, small metal trinkets of chains and ribbons of bright cloth, on occasion flowers or herbs. It is longer than many khajiit, a habit picked up when he travelled in skyrim. His tail is a point of perticular pride, long and clublike with bold distinctive black rings.

Equipment: Do’Arta wears a traditional budi: a shawl of cream and light blue cloth worn by his people for defence against the harsh rays of the sun. This shirt is tightly fastened in braids down the right side. Over this garment is a breastplate of dark leather, complete with curved shoulder guards and bracers. He has simple cloth trews, and prefers not to wear shoes, and does so only under the harshest circumstances. Strapped to Do’Arta’s back is a large steel battleaxe, while a quiver of arrows is strapped to the small of his back beside a longbow. Both bow and axe are also decorated with ribbons of cloth and feathers.

Personality: Do’Arta can often be found smiling, either in adversity or success. This is a part of his upbringing, no matter that he may hide in his heart; it does not show on his face. He is willing and able to adapt his views on something instantly and un-apologetically, inflexibility is the anchor of the fool. His manner is good humored and he is prone to drink, mood sugar and liaisons of an intimate nature. Rather rash and prideful, he is more than happy to brawl and even kill over his or his people’s honour. Do’Arta is always pleased to meet a fellow Khajiit abroad in the world and will treat them as a friend. Lastly, he is scared of large bodies of water, and refuses point blank to board a ship. Even shallow water and rain he hates, they matt his fur and tangle his hair. He is a little vain when it comes to his appearance. As knowledgeable as he is on many matters, he knows little of the other races of Tamriel.

Loves: The cool of the desert at night, good food, moonsugar and plotting his enemies downfall.

Hates: The sea, rain or water in his fur, magic, stubbornness.

Skills: Do’Arta is a desert warrior, formidable with bow and axe, he is also quiet and agile in both night and day. He is proficient as a scout and tracker and he has no difficult providing himself with tasty meals in the wild; he is knowledgeable with herbs and hunting. Recently he has extended his herblore to include potions of various kinds.

Background:

"Fusozay Var Var": Enjoy life.

Young M’Arta was born into one of Elsweyr’s northern tribes, when Secunda was full in the sky and Masser waxing. His tribe were nomads who wandered the wastes as hunters and pastors. He grew quickly, as was common among the Khajiit, but he grew tall and strong also.

He was taught to hunt and track at a young age, and then to use bow and spear, mostly in the chase but occasionally in battle. He was taught the khajiit way of things, to fight with ferocity, to strike without warning, and to retreat when necessary. Only the fool confuses cleverness with cowardice. M’Arta was always first amongst his littermates in these matters, and it was often noted with approval that, even among his own kind one did not know what he was thinking.

Their tribe was blessed with the unusual boon of a khajiit strong in magery, a point of pride among the tribe. Jo’Hecta was the clan-mother, her powers of great use to them as a healer and protector. However, in 578, storms raged, and the Serpent obscured even the moons Masser and Secunda from the sky. That night, Jo’Hecta was driven insane. She attacked her clansfolk with arcane magics, jabbering and screaming. She killed several before Arta came upon her and felled her with a thrown spear. Though he had saved many lives, he had been too late to save his parents. He had also committed violence against a clan-mother, a taboo among his people. Rather than become a pariah, he shed the prefix M’, took the warrior prefix Do’ and left for the south. Ever since that night he has considered magic unstable and dangerous, and fears its wielders.

His strength and ferocity served him well in the merchant cities of Elsweyr, and he found work easy to come by. At first he stayed within the bounds of his home, but the continuing threat of the Khahaten Flu eventually convinced him to travel further afield. In Valenwood, he learned of the Arcane Explosion, and its suspected cause. Blaming the Empire for the death of his family, he joined the ranks of the Dominion’s forces in 2E 582, at the beginning of the Great War.

I only recently got around to reading up on the Khajiit lore in full, and was inspired to create yet another character. As always, feedback is appreciated. His bio between leaving Elsweyr and joining the Dominion is still to be filled, perhaps through RP on the forums.

Not bad though I never heard that they put ribbons and such in their hair other than rings, also liked the fear of water.

Thanks for the feedback. Yea, its not stated directly in the lore that they decorate themselves with ribbons/feathers, just trinkets, herbs and small decorations. But its a small departure and fits a poor, tribal khajiit better, who doesn't have the money to purchase more expensive or elaborate decorations, so he uses ribbons and feathers. It also helps him seems less cultured and more wild.

Ah very cool character! Of course my opinion is biased, but oh well. Really done well according to the lore that is available. Elsweyr and the Khajiit in general really are kind of shrouded in mystery. There really isn't a ton of lore for them. I think it takes a little more creativity to get in-depth with the setting and you have accomplished that well here.

Sugar + Water + Purple

Do'Shanji - Khajiit warrior
Roac Bellecot - Redguard farmer
Jaree-Tah - Argonian agent

Thanks, I was surprised how easily he came together once I read up on the lore and started thinking about what kind of character I wanted. Its a shame most of Elsweyr isn't included at launch, I was looking forward to exploring it.

His subspecies is Cathay, hence he is fairly hefty. Yea, I quite like that a lot of the Khajiit personality is feline to some extent, such as not knowing what they are thinking ect. So I just took it a step further. Plus, I don't imagine he came across much water in the badlands of Elsweyr.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think it would be nice if someone made a Khajiit that is maybe an Alfique ((if they are spelled that way)) mage for example. Maybe even a senche... hmm do you know if everyone of the sub-spieces talk and are as intelligent as the Cathay?

I believe that Alfiq cannot speak, but that wouldn't be a huge problem, it could create some interesting RP situations. They are pretty small, though, and so I'd think combat is out of the question. Mage might be possible. I think most of variations are sentient, but some are more animal than others. I'm not much of a khajiit lore buff though, I mostly peruse UESP.

It would be nice if the Senche-Raht could speak. They are pretty big :P

I hope that we can encounter all the sub-spieces in Elsweyr :)
