((For more information on the RP, please see the Discussion Thread. The RP will be closed, when there's eigth people participating. But as everyone will die on this doomed expedition (and whenever you want your character to die), there should arise several changes for the RP to re-open.))

Sorry for the somewhat long post, I got carried away while writing xD

Introduction:

2E 598, Mid Year 7, Morndas: The war had been rampaging for years (1), but to all the people gathering this sunny and hot morning at the docks of the city of Tear, located in southeastern Morrowind, this was now of little meaning. They were prepared to put their past lifes behind them and had the resolve and curiousity to risk a dangerous journey into the unknown; deep into the Padomaic Ocean - and eventually to the mysterious continent of Akavir. Many ships were waiting to set sail in the harbour of Tear, but one of them stood out due to its enormous size: The Larethal Star, named after a rich and powerful altmer noble called Cyrelas Larethal.

But in his stead, a strong and fierce looking dunmer stood on the top floor at the ship's back, which was facing towards the docks. To his left and right were each standing three proud looking dunmer of the house Dres, to which Tear belongs, holding big fanfares with flags attached to them. And in front of him was a huge cone of the length of an altmer and the diameter of a bosmer installed to the ship. It had some wheels at the bottom, which allowed the cone to turn around its own axis.

While the ship's crew already was on board and had received their orders, it was much more difficult to organize the many adventurers and mercenaries of different race, status and personality. To display a sense of honor and authority, as well as to get everyone's attention, the fanfare players were now playing loudly for several minutes. As they finished, they simultaneously hold the fanfares upright towards the sky, remaining still in this position.

Shortly thereafter, the strong and fierce looking dunmer began speaking through the enormous cone: "I welcome all the adventurers and mercenaries joining our cruise towards Akavir. My name is Nisimar Avalenar; and as the ship's captain, I'll be representing the initiator and main sponsor of this voyage: Cyrelas Larethal. He's a well-known noble back in Skywatch on the Summerset Isles. Seeking adventures his hole life and wanting to settle a long dispute between his family and another noble family from Firsthold, he vowed to capture a creature of each of the known races living on Akavir as a prove of strength and capability. But other groups have joined us as well: A team of scholars from the Mage's Guild, diplomats, spies, historians and various others interested in the riches and cultures of Akavir.".

Nisimar took a short break and continued with a loud and celebratory voice, almost shouting: "Morndas, the seventh of Mid Year 598 in the second era: This day will be marked in history books and be remembered as the glorious takeoff of the Larethal Star! Today we'll start working on our way into Tamriel's history! Even thousand years later, people shall remember us for our achievements and deeds! We'll come back victorious and whealthy! Akavir, we're coming! Akavir, be prepared!". He repeated the last two sentences a few times, until most of the adventurers joined his chants loudly.

After the screams died down, Nisimar concluded his speech: "The winds are in our favour. We'll depart in one hour, so be sure to board the ship as soon as possible. The details of your payment will be discussed this afternoon. Rest assured, you'll all be paid handsomely!".

(1) Or still is, depending on what'll happen in TESO. For the porpuse of this RP, let's assume that it's over at this point, or a short break is occuring in the war efforts due to the massive demand in people's lifes and resources for all the factions. Anyways the world will still be in a chaotic state and there will be many people wanting to see something else than a war-torn world.

RP start:

Ghamborz Gro-Shagrak felt a bit dazed and confused while waiting in front of the Larethal Star on this hot summer morning. Although he had been travelling for 24 years offering his mercenary services at various places throughout Tamriel, he still couldn't handle the heat well and sometimes remembered yearningly the rather cold climate from his home in the Wrothgardian Mountains. But as everyone began chanting the captain's words, he felt somewhat rallied up and joined cheerfully.
When the speech was finished, he stood in line to board the ship while looking around for interesting people he could chat with.

An old dunmer leaned over the edge of the boat as the speech went on he listened to how rousing the captain was and laughed to himself. It was a nice day he thought to himself as he looked out into the ocean. He was a rather thin and old looking dunmer though he was oddly handsome. His eyes were a deep red and his hair long and white. When the wind caught his hair it gracefully moved in tune with the gust.

The sheath of his sword was very ornate and looked very valuable as did most of the armor he wore despite its rather beat appearance. He looked like no mercenary, but looked like no scholar so he laughed as he knew many would wonder what an old dunmer like him in such vestments was even doing on a journey like this.

As he sat in amusement at all the thoughts racing through his head quietly he spoke "Today I finally have a reason to be excited again."

Ghamborz felt a little strange to see so many adventurers boarding the ship, as he would normally work alone or in small groups. When he finally got onto the ship, he noticed some people watching an old dunmer who stood out among the people on the ship. It was the first person Ghamborz wasn't able to guess what his motivation for this journey was. He looked a bit absent-minded to Ghamborz. His experience with old dunmer wearing such expensive clothes were often bad ones: Cranky sorcerers, overly proud warriors and some other examples Ghamborz had a tough time to deal with (mostly only talking to them, but sometimes also fighting them or fleeing from them). But Ghamborz told himself, that this journey will be long and maybe boring at times, and he was sure the old dunmer knew many interesting stories to tell. He walked to the edge of the ship looking seawards in the same direction as the dunmer. Close enough to start a private conversation, but still leaving some distance between them, Ghamborz said: "Good morning mister, you don't look like the average adventurer to me. My name's Ghamborz Gro-Shagrak. What's yours?"

((I totally forgot to describe Ghamborz cloths, so here it is: He wears chainmail armor and underneath a white linen shirt. His pants are made of brown studded leather, he prefers them over heavier armor because it doesn't restrict his movement. On his back he wears a finely crafted double-handed battle axe made of glass he looted from an adventurer during the war.))

Kaaos turned slowly and raised his head towards the Ghamborz with a smile on his face. It was odd a dunmer so happy and seemingly so relaxed. Though most of his clothing and armor were fine it was clear upon closer inspection they were well worn having seen many days of traveling and fighting especially the tattered gray cloak which looked like at any moment it would just fall apart.

Kaaos inspected Ghamborz before speaking. His voice was low and soft with a certain peacefulness to it like that of a wise elder yet it was still youthful and smooth and filled with life.

"It's a good day to meet you Ghamborz. No I am not probably your average adventurer, but none the less I am glad to be here. Why have you come on this trip?" Kaaos looked happy to have a conversation with the young orc and seemed to be in no hurry for the reply.

He Couldn't take it anymore, the feeling in the pit of his stomach was getting worse! Back and forth, back and forth the contents of his insides swashed until the very thought of taking another step became less appealing than death itself. "Kill me now, please!" he bellowed as he hung dramatically over the ships side spilling all his hopes, dreams, secrets and most importantly his lunch into the ocean's calming center.

I Guess I've never looked at the ocean from this viewpoint he thought. So mystical, so enchanting, so full of vigor, life! Each ripple telling a story of its own about how it came from afar to finally take rest right here, in this very spot, right before my very eyes...Its so beautiful he gazed even deeper...its so.."By the Gods what in Tamriel did I eat!?"

What can only be descried as roasted skeever chunks with a dash of horker glob engulfed what was once a stunning view below him. He hoisted himself fully onto the ship and sank into it's side.

"Perrick Montrose pull yourself together you are a Breton after all, you want to be a noble right? You want the fame the glory......the vast, vast riches right?" said the little voice inside his head. "You're right all we need is but one more quest to prove our worth and it is ours!" followed Perrick.

"But first.....change your attire you look like a flee ridden Reguard...and you smell worse than Nord stable boy!" said the voice

Perrick looked down at his once bright white blouse now stained with vomit and broken wood chips, from leaning over the ships side. I do indeed need to change he thought.

Ghamborz was glad, Kaaos belonged to the sort of open-minded old dunmer. At least it seemed that way.
"Well, I heard of this expedition while looking for work in a run-down tavern in a small town in Skyrim. I've been adventuring and offering my mercenary services for almost twentyfive years now, and never had I heard of such an enormous sum being offered just for participating. But I didn't join for the money alone. As long as you're only after money, this adventure isn't worth the risk in my opinion. A part of me always loved the travelling as well as the flexible choices and payments one receives or enforces while doing this kind of work. I guess I am just really curious to see another continent. Of course the gold is a nice addition.", as Ghamborz paused shortly, he noticed a pale looking breton about half the ship's length to their right. "That guy sure looks sick, I wonder if he can handle the sea?", Ghamborz murmured a bit distracted. But he wanted to know more about the old dunmer: "But you still haven't told me your name yet? And what it is, that someone like you would want on a trip like this?".

Kaaos smiled calmly as the boat swayed in the water. The take off was always the roughest for those who were not accustom to riding boats. Though he listened to Ghamborz he could see the Breton in discomfort and then at the same time Ghamborz got distracted Kaaos noticed the Breton was pale and seemed to lurch over the side off the boat. Kaaos looked back to to Ghamborz and began to speak.

"Well money has never really been to much of a concern of mine though there are times when I had to much and some when I had to little. A mercenary for the Covenant back in the war I see you had your spoils. *Kaaos smiles and gestures lightly to the axe* Though you are wise to take on a journey like this more for the adventure than the money. If living for four centuries has taught me anything it has taught me that we should seek what joy there is to be had in life rather than seeking our fortunes cause that is the hardest thing to attain is peace."

Kaaos paused realizing he had rambled, but not really responded to the questions asked so he began again a little more focused on what the orc may want to actually know.

"My name is Kaaos Menestys of House Indoril or formerly of House Indoril *A little look of trouble came across the dunmer's face before it quickly faded and he continued on* I am here well simply to set foot on Akavir and maybe even stay if I can find my footing. There are legends of so many places there that if I could reach them maybe a new life could be find so in short I am here to start over and attain a dream I always had. Growing up in Necrom I read about everything as part of my studies and the books on Akavir that I could find only made this place that alluded me more enticing so here I am finally going to a dream I have had since a boy foolishly hoping to see what almost none have ever seen. Though I must admit it is hard to leave my son behind with not intention of coming back."

As Kaaos mentioned his son he began to drift off and look away as if thinking about something intently.

Perrick returned to the ships deck with a fresh new blouse on not as bright as before but clean nonetheless, The ship still felt rocky but Perrick had nothing left in his stomach to spew forth. As he walked with his head down placing one foot slowly in front of the other as not to off set his new found blance, he noticed the frabic from his tan trousers were starting to fray, he plucked a single strand from his trouser and held it up to his face, "well this won't do now will it? can't have these degenerates thinking we're cut from the same cloth." the little voice said

Perrick let go of the single strand of fabric in his hand and it floated through the sky like a losse feather with an unknown destination. Perrick looked over and saw a Orc... horrible creatures he thought. His grandfather had told his father all about Orcs and his fater had told him so he knew all there was about the vile creatures. "I'll just have to show this Orc who's the boss!" he said as he puffed his chest out a bit further than it usually goes. Next to the Orc he saw a dirty old Dunmer in what looked to him as rags from the dump.

His father's father had also told him about the dunmer, so he too knew all about them and there evil ways and slave trading. Not the kind of company Perrick would normally surround himself with but it was a big ship he was sure he would find more suitable company.

Perrick looked off to the side and saw another breton drinking mead in the corner. How lovely he thought! The other looked a bit rough around the edges...but hey, at least he was a breton!

Perrick walked toward the fellow breton, "Perrick Montrose The III" he put a bit more weight behind the word III. Truth was he wasn't a third, his fathers name and his grandfathers name sounded nothing like his own but he thought Perrick Montrose the III sounded better, more important. "Surely a pleasure to meet you" he said as he bowed.

Ulfgar was standing, looking up to the sky and the two moons while drinking his mead he saw a man in the corner polishing his blade and smiled and said "Now,that's workout, aye." As Ulfgar was standing near Perrick and Sarin,he walked up to them and said "Hello there, allow me to introduce myself.I am Ulfgar the Fearless, second son to Jorunn the Fearless. "Tell me Ulfgar, if you're the second son and you are fearless...your father is also named fearless...what of the first son!" "That means your brother you big dumb brute!" said the little voice.

Ulfgar looked at Perrick and smiled. "My first brother has... died in a hunt,he and our friends from the village were hunting for unicorns, and when he killed the unicorn,he got a terrible disease and died.." Ulfgar remembered that day very well.
