Just curious on how this will work. Seems like this roll/title will be given the top player overall in ESO but I'm not entirely sure. Can someone fill me in on all the spec of this title that we know of so far?

top player in cyrodiil when one faction *wins* the war. As in gets the most points and (after launch) captures white-gold.
the title is PvP only.

I'm assuming this title changes very frequently based on the number of battles that will go on. A guy may become emperor for a few days, hours?

They might not lose the ability to have their title as "Emperor", but they'd lose the position as soon as the Imperial City is taken by someone else.

@Balian We're not to sure on perks yet but I'm sure there may be something similar to Aura's when the Emperor comes or something else. Also if the Emperor dies then that may be a buff for the other Alliance as well. They should have other titles for completing challenges though. It gives people a unique name.

Ummm i remember they mention Emperor will haw more hp stamina and magic then normal player, and some auras as well, if not most of people would just zerg him and he would die too fast. But i cent say for sure how will they balance it.
Oh also you are only "Emperor" wile you hold Imperial City, if you lose it you will lose Emperor. So if Alliance doesn't properly defend Emperor will fall fast.

I like this idea a lot actually. It'd be interesting to see if there was a 'moral' mechanic built into the auras. Having an Emperor fighting alongside their fellows could provide buffs and advantages compared to an Emperor to sits around doing nothing. Conversely, having the Emperor killed in battle could result in a loss of 'moral' in the form of a debuff or simply a buff for the faction who manages to slay the emperor on the field.

That does sound like a really good idea. It kind of gives the defending team the advantage so they can hang on to the throne, if this were the case. Will battles take place freely where factions can attack at will or will the battles be planned. I'd imagine they'd be planned before hand.

Some battles could probably be planned by guilds within the different factions, but I imagine it would probably follow the same sort of action as Guild Wars 2. Some coordination at times, but more often than not 'zerg' groups massing to quickly rotate around the map taking whatever they come across.

I actually like that idea. You're only Emperor while your faction holds the IC. Theoretically, that forces the other two factions to zerg the IC to knock you off the throne and start the conflict all over again.

from what i know you ll be emporer for a set ammount of time. Because the way RvR works you get "point ticks" from various structures you hold. At the end the faction with most point wins, and most likeley gets access to the ruby throne. Probably also to that Darkness Falls esque dungeon.
So youre naturally always emporer till the next tick. unless of course you happen to be the best player twice in a row.

I think there are three big fortresses in cyrodiil and your faction has to take them before you go for the attack on the IC. It's a progression system, you have to take the farms and mines and saw mills around the fortresses to take them and then when your faction has all of the fortresses you go for the attack on IC and the highest ranked member of that faction is crowned Emperor. So it will take a long time for the other factions to take the fortresses and invade the IC, so you'll be Emperor for a week or so.

What about the cities of Cyrodiil such as Kvatch, Anvil, Chorrol, etc. What role will those play in game. And what about the dungeons and caves we explored in Oblivion? Will we get to explore those and the Ayleid ruins as well?
