From what I've read, the pvp in ESO feels and seems to be a lot like what the pvp in GW2 is.

However, in GW2, we had 3 servers coming together to battle for focal points.
In ESO, it seems that we will have 3 factions coming together for an all out battle.

Whats your guys opinion on this? I've never really been a fan of more than 2 opposing sides clashing in a pvp standpoint.

I like the traditional, one side vs the other. I'm not sure if the pvp community is large here but its a large portion of the game for me.

(Although the pve in this game will more than likely be enough to suit me)

this is enaugh.
we had enaugh threads about this.
Cant you just discuss PvP in one of the million topics we got so far?

to answer your questions that are obviously fueled by the lack of knowledge.
this is as oldschool as it gets in non sandbox PvP. It is based on DAoC, wich is older than WoW and its PvP was recepted alot better.
the 1v1v1 situation gives a much more dynamic expirience as the 1v1 does that always leads to stupid stalemates and one faction overpowering the other too easily.

So yeah. im fairly sure the PvP community will be big and it will be all over a new DAoC like expirience.
and thats a good thing.

I've always preferred 3 factions. With 2 factions it's always ended up being one side has more numbers, or one side is always winning and there's no stopping them. With 3 factions, if done properly, a single faction will have a much harder time dominating due to the fact they have more opposition. If everyone sees team X is taking over, then ideally teams Y and Z will do their best to push them back and keep them at bay. Always keeping the stronger force in check. It's simply impossible to have that kind of tactical maneuvers with only 2 factions, especially if numbers are against you. Or even better, if one side has a simply amazing pvp guild. With 3, it's going to take a lot more strategy and planning to conquer than your usual 1v1. Which is what I think TESO is try to do. It's no fun rolling people that have no chance. It's going to be harder if your opposition is doubled.

Interesting, I guess I will take my topics of discussion else where. I havent seen any other topics discussing the comparison of pvp between gw2 and eso.. nor have I seen any asking for opinions on the matter. You have flamed me on every thread ive proposed and frankly ruined this community for me.

Way to deter people from joining the community my friend, your selfishness and arrogance is outstanding.

The PvP system in this game is based on DAoC, not GW2. GW2 had rotating opponents and no overarching campaign.

DAoC which, btw, was named best PvP mmo of the decade by TenTonHammer, has three static factions attacking each other for control of the map.

In ESO, we get the DAoC system with the greater story/purpose of intervention in the conflict and a fourth faction that is neutral (we all hate). Two faction PvP doesn't work in large scale RvR environments. One always turns into a zerg, the other is always crushed. With this system, the weaker factions can band together to counter the zerg faction. It opens the campaign up to political intrigue as well.

There have been quite a few topics discussing various aspects of this, you can find them in a pretty short time -- I just did to check how many of them exist.

We really do have a lot of topics about this. I don't want the same discussions floating around, and there is a search link for a reason.
