There isn't alot of info, but at first guess i'd wager 5,000-10,000?.

Maybe lesser, as i remember reading "Battle of sancre Tor. General Talos led 10,000 men against the Nord-breton armies, which numbered 20,000. "They expected to defeat, overrun, and annihilate General Talos' army, leaving NO ONE to oppose their springtime descent into the Cyrodilic Heartlands". From this quote i speculated that 10,000 would be the highest number able to be raised from the current empire, and if not mistaken was considered atleast decent?.

However, it also says "The Cyrodilic army was SMALL".

I've chosen this timeline because it wasn't too far from ESO time period, so we'd get the most accurate estimation of imperial military might (hopefully). Thought this would make for an interesting thread, so what do you guy think?.

depending.
From my understanding the PvP part and the PvE part takes place after one another chronologically.
Id suppose in the PvE part you actually defeat the (rather large) imperial army.

And when you hit PvP you are taking whats left of them.

I vote strong simply because it seems there is a lot of secrecy going on with alliances involving a daedra and a master necromancer which kind of gives them even if they have small numbers infinite possibilities to overcome that weakness.

I vote strong b/c the empire has to fend against so many enemies and that fact will force them to strengthen if they want to keep Cyrodiil

Not going by any proof or anything but I believe it will be in between strong and weak. The reason why I think that is because you have all 3 factions fighting them but at the same time fighting each other making it to where they don't need that big of an army. cause the other factions are too distracted by the other factions.

They will be weak. Not only are they facing three incredibly strong factions from all fronts, they are also having to deal with Molag Bol and his craziness. Empire during this time period: pretty spread thin. You did seem them getting owned in the video, right? lol xD

In the beginning they will be weak with the enemies all around ( 3 alliances that surrounding Cyrodiil ). But, they will forge an alliance with Mannimarco who will turn dead imperial soldiers into zombies and other kinds of undead creatures. Then they will be powerful no matter how many there are in numbers.
