Of course! and from my experience it is better than 3rd person.

Here you can see a discussion about it with more opinions than mine, just to be better informed about it :)

I second @Ivixor on first person being better then third person. Some people have issues with it because they don't like the field of view, but I've had no issues with it.

I found a bit difficult to dodge while on 1st person though, but that's something that you can get used to it after a while, I guess.

Yes the game has BOTH third person view and first person view , viability of a view depends on what character you're playing with , you can adjust the camera from first person to third person , adjust how far the camera would be from your player . If you're an archer you'd prefer to have first person view , if you're a melee champ , you'd prefer third person.

False, I played melee and preferred first person. Third person felt like it had no weight behind it to me.

It'll most likely be easier to aim in 1st person than in 3rd, but while traveling I would go 3rd.

It's more realistic; but I suspect I'll switch to 3rd person for PVP. Getting hit from behind by the NPC is annoying in first person; but could be that fraction of a second seeing them coming in PVP that will allow you to live.

For exploration and open world questing, I prefer first person. For Dungeons, I found that third person was beneficial during boss fights. I imagine third person will be best for PvP since there will be a lot going on around you. To each his own.

I personally use 1st person for some things (Melee combat, Archery, times when i want to be really immersed in the feeling of the character, Etc.) and 3rd for some other things (ranged spell-casting, exploring, PvP when i do it).

So all in all I'm happy that both modes are in the game and see that both have uses for different things in-game.

I still feel when you enter Cryodiil (PvP area) the game should lock you into 1st person view. This would make the game a hell of alot more competitive and make the skill set that much harder and more rewarding.
