Full loot PVP?

Hi all!

I'm new here and can't currently search all the threads because of slow connection on my iPhone...

Will there be full loot pvp in TESO?

The game I'm currently playing (Darkfall) has this feature and I like it.

However, Darkfall is really going in a bad direction so I'll probably be moving to TESO reguardless...

They already mentioned that you'll keep ALL of your items when you die, even in PvP. Because of this, I highly doubt you'll be able to loot the bodies of your foes in PvP. Also, the battles are planned to have 200 people on screen at once. Everyone trying to loot bodies in that moshpit of a battle wouldn't work very well.

God i hope you wont be able to loot dead bodies....i remember lineage2 when you die people steal your stuff......not fun lol.

They stopped that feature now and there's a lot less ganking than back then. And now when somebody kills another their name turns red and if they kill more it turns purple and takes a long time to wear off. When their name is red/purple anybody can kill them with no penalty.

I'm hoping for the same thing you are, although I think vigk is correct and It seems highly unlikely that you could loot players in pvp.

Full looting is one of those huge fundamental game mechanics that really define a game and polarises the audience. You either love it or loathe it, there's really no in between.

There will be no player looting in TESO. You'll only get XP and Alliance points.

That is a shame really, victory on the battle field and reaping the spoils of war is what games should be about, gives a good reason for people to formulate battle plans, lay down good solid tactics and makes people more sensible and less tolerable to children yelling "just nuke them" or playing on battlegrounds "all go docks" now people rush the battlegrounds knowing full well there's no penalties, they should at least let us take there money :P, tactics are no more, they've gone out the window and the days when guild leaders sat down with squad leaders is coming to an end. I for one am still going to keep the strategic meetings going, as its what we've done for years. Take no prisoners, Leave none standing. If anyone would like to discuss battleground tactics with me on release or beta id be happy to talk, please message me :D regardless of faction would be good to compare ideals and standard operations.

If they added a couple of optional full loot campaigns to the pvp i wouldn't mind tbh , wont be part of the core game tho

from what i understand there will wont be pvp / pve gear, you will be using one set and what you can use in the dungeons you can sue in the battlegrounds :)

Looting dead bodies in the battle ground won't work cuz the second u do chances are you'll get a sword in ur back or an arrow etc. but I do agree that there should be spoils of war once there is a victor. But i don't think there is anything like that as of yet except for being crowned King

I personally like the idea that survival being meaningful, and losing my items due to not being skilled enough is something I can accept, however, I know other people wouldn't like it. I can play happily without it.

An idea I think they could implement it into the game would be...

2 Players could agree to a duel of sorts,agree upon terms (loot the opponents corpse) then they fight to the death, winner takes all,
It would make for quite competitive 1v1 combat.

This is one of those things I think ZOS is doing right. Personally, I prefer having all the pvp confined to Cyrodiil and for it not to be full loot pvp. If I worked hard to get my stuff, and you didn't, why should you be able to take anything from me just because you killed me in pvp?

Vigk Vagk I think has the best reason against looting in PvP encounters. It turning into a mess when people are trying to loot bodies. I, personally dont like the idea of losing loot in PvP especially considering more often then not the one that finally kills you doesnt normally deserve the loot anyway. Id much prefer the game keep a running tally of what you didn through the course of an encounter and rewards you that way. It seems like the fairest way to do it.

Not to mention if we did go into a looting system most people, i would think, would dump all but their most essential gear into a bank before going in and that would trivialize the system.

The other thing is that since they are making a big deal about PvP in TESO I would think they would make it as mass popular friendly as possible and the last thing you want is having players nerdrage at others for looting in combat or people being unhappy about losing the gear/gold they have spent time and energy grinding. If PvP in TESO was like PvP in WoW where it was of little consequence on the world around the players I wouldnt mind if they were alittle more aggressive with the PvP mechanics but I would prefer a pretty bland looting system if I am going to have to participate as part of the whole game experience and let the participation be the rewards (not to mention XP and alliance points)

This just isn't that type of game. Anything incorporating that is going to be a smaller niche game, simply because that style of play isn't popular with mainstream gamers.
