Hey guys. I don't think this topic has been brought up before...at least not on this site. So here we go:

I've seen a lot of MMOs with native Xbox 360 controller support. Just to name a few of them: Tera, DC:U, Star Trek Online, Vindictus, Dragon's Nest(I don't play a lot of MMO type games, but I've done a bit of research.)
We already know that Zenimax is taking into consideration, the ability to play it on consoles...or at least it hasn't been completely ruled out. You can see an article written here: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/...soles.html

After reading about some of the features that will make it unique, such as having a smaller hotbar, the setup seems ideal for controller support.
I don't want to cut down anyone who prefers to play games with a mouse and keyboard. I know that most people prefer it that way. :)
I am just one of the very, very few who enjoys the comfortable feel of a controller in my hands as opposed to craning my arms over the desk, and getting cramps because of my crappy little setup. xD
While, I am sure that this probably doesn't interest most of you, what are your thoughts on possible controller/joypad support for the game? I think that it is entirely possible, and perhaps even probable for them to implement controller usage for movement and some combat type functions, while still relying on the keyboard and mouse for social and group functions.
I believe that they could still make it for both, as with many PC games. And for those who prefer gaming with a keyboard and mouse, there will still be that option. But it would be nice to have that extra. That bit of variety...especially for the many newcomers to MMORPGs and PC gaming, and for those who enjoy the nostalgia or comfort of traditional controllers/gamepads/joysticks. :)
So, what do you think? Enable the possibility of gamepad support, or confine it strictly to keyboard/mouse?

I'd like to be able to use my controller. It would work well with TESO, considering we don't have like 900 different skills.

I would hope not. But I don't think so. Even if we did, we would still only be able to hotkey a few at a time anyway(I think they said five...but I might be mistaken,) so it really works out perfectly! :)

I think it was your Basic Attack and a Block/Other Weapon on the mouse buttons, 5 hotkeys for skills, and then 1 for an ultimate.

So, you could put the Basic attacks on the Trigger buttons, 4 skills on the ABXY buttons, 1 skill and an ultimate on the shoulder buttons, Use the analog sticks for movement, use the start and select for menus, and have the arrows for menus, or whatever else you need.

Oh okay. I probably could live without five hotkeys....or perhaps, just have them in a quicklist, as it is in Skyrim.

I also completely agree with your controller configuration. It seems quite doable. :)

The quicklist was one of the things I hated in Skyrim. It felt stupid having to pause in the middle of everything and scroll through a giant list of all of my spells (especially annoying once I got every spell in the game).

Yeah, I eventually collected all of the spells too. But I only put the few spells/abilities I really liked the most in my quicklist, so I never really had any problems with it. I mean, ten at the most was all I needed. I think that the ability to assign various attacks to button combos...such as, LB+A RB+B, as well as having a quicklist would work out nicely. That way, you'd have a lot more versatility. :)

Well, TESO only lets you use the 6 skills you have equipped. Kind of like the system is Diablo 3. So, I don't think that you would even need a quicklist.

Oh okay. I actually rather liked Diablo 3's system, from the short time that I played it. I can see that working out well in this game too. :)

I personally don't like using a controller at my PC, however, I don't see why people who prefer controllers shouldn't be able to use one, it's not like there will be millions of action bars and abilities.

I definitely would like an integrated controller support option.

Well taking into consideration that, like mentioned above there are few abilities, also that the past Elder Scrolls games have been massive on the consoles, I think it's safe to assume they will implement controller use :) Of course this is just a guess.

I don't see why (with the little knowledge known) that controllers couldn't be added to TESO. In WOW they weren't the wisest choice, but for simple grinding it was pretty fair to use. And with only a handful of skills, easy implamentation. I hope they have it here.

I'd like to site a video related to this actually.
Be warned that these opinions are very strong, and although they may be correct,
they shouldn't deter you from being excited about TESO!

I personally suggest that you watch the ENTIRE VIDEO,
but if you want you can watch 2:15-4:00ish where it talks about why it may not be a good idea to run TESO on consoles other than PC

I actually agree with this video, so sad face over my comps poor specs.
That was pretty true though.
