It would be one hell of a place to induct new members, you could do a mass induction each week and at the end of the week, hold a feast in your hall, were you could get members to repeat an oath or kneel down and swear fealty to your cause lol, prob wont do that as its degrading lol, but you can see the point, holding a feast to honor new members would bolster respect from them, as it would show members making an effort for there peers.

And as the guild earns more points, not sure on the ranking system yet not been able to find out this, upgrade the keep/ship/airship these guild zones could come in many forms if they are introduced.

For example a small guild of less than 10 members has a small hall with one table, a larger guild would have 4-5 tables and as it levels up finery such as table cloths and silverware, goblets etc to furnish the table, runners along the floors customization to the guilds colors, pvp, rated bg and arena coats of arms and trophies to decorate the walls or endgame bosses whose heads you could mount over the grand fireplace.

Bedrooms for the guild officers as well as a guild vault that you can put items in, maybe some manaquins to put your finest crafted gear on, and display the level of wealth your guild has to offer.

The possibility of training yards or dummies within the grand hall, allowing people to practice moves and abilities, a sparring area where 2 or more people can go to practice moves, very much like dueling in other games where you wouldn't die, even an upgraded version with a balcony where on lookers can go to watch and learn from possible training demonstrations, or tournaments between the strongest of the guilds, winner stay in etc, would be interesting to see.

What are your views on this topic???

There will be no housing or guild halls at launch.
If there were any, I would prefer using keeps in Cyrodiil as guild halls over phased Guild Halls.

Thats unfortunate, i know they were not allowing housing within the game, but i was very much hoping to see a guild hq to call home, or possibly points of interest within the games world map, lets say your guild single handedly with its combined strength captures a keep of an opposing faction, you could defend that, but could you call it your own?

They should introduce this feature in, and allow guilds to have something they can call home, somewhere after a hectic battlefield can return home to, to lick there wounds and to boast of triumphs and glory.

I would prefer a system where your guild captures a keep/fort and holds it, it turns into a form of guild base. It would be a good advertisement for a pvp guild, and also would give people an extra reason to defend it knowing its their "home"

I like this idea. A guild hall for each guild with 30+ ,e,bers. I would definitel;y make a minimum. I can't wait until they release some details on item storage. Whether there will be a personal bank or a home or not. This has been an issue with ES games until Skyrim and with all MMOs. SWTOR did pretty good with item storage on their ships though.

Dungeon siege had a good system where you could purchase pack mules to bring with you into dungeons they could be loaded up with gear and unloaded bit by bit on returning to a city to sell your spoils and plunder :)

I would think guild halls or bases would be great, it would add that element of owership and pride that can only come with having control of property. I really like Guild Masters ideas in regards with different size buildings depending on guild wealth & size.

Guild halls would be pretty epic no doubt, maybe if it is not in the game at launch, it can be added to the game later? This would give much more excitement to raiding if other guilds could actually raid your guild hall and take it over.

I feel like the game will be controlled well enough with phasing that real estate should be able to work as it does in the real world. Each faction territory is big enough to have every non essential building for sale. What I propose is that there aren't guild halls but rather buildings that are for sale but priced where only a guild (or a VERY dedicated player) could afford it. Tibia is a game that held real estate pretty well. It had everything from apartments to houses several floors high. This is a 2d mmo mind you. It isn't out of the realm of control I don't think. Plus, then we could have real estate guilds, lol, buying a property and flipping it for profit.

I love pvp and agree with the ideas of guilds that take over keeps etc and defend them, but I think a guild hall of some sort outside of pvp is a good idea as well. It gives a place to rally, to display trophies or acheivements (assuming something like this will be included), and as was mentioned, a source of pride for a guild(outside of pvp).

Like I said, I love pvp too, but lets be honest, there are many people that dont play MMOs for the pvp (although I think theyre missing out). Lets not be selfish. Lotro had instanced housing areas and it worked ok. Maybe a scaled down version just for guild halls would be a suitable compromise. On top of that, an instanced area is something that could be implemented after launch. THERE, problem solved. :)

I am a big fan of Guild halls & player housing... and I would be willing to bet *hope* that they will implement them by the 1st anniversary.

I can understand why they would not have them at launch.

-The obvious...just one more mechanic to try and patch all of the bugs out of it while worrying about broke quest and naked characters with no gear after zoning....

-The fact that the halls and houses will cost something...Guilds usually will probably have a lvl requirement or status points, etc...
Any with guild housing also comes guild banks, which they will probably implement first before guild housing.

-I am anticipating something similar to how Rift was set up in the beginning...a guild npc for combat and mass transport banners, and guild perks.

At any rate, I am sure they will bring all of that stuff online as soon as they can.

we are not talking about guild forts im talking about an instance within the capital city your faxtions next to the likes of the fighters guild, mages guild, and a phased building that would be unique to your guilds style.
