According to Paul Sage

you may be able to have guilds composed of opposing alliance fractions i.e. Humans, Nord and elfs in the same guild.

The first question is do you think this will work?
Second question is what this be a problem within the guild? I.e. guild drama

I have mixed feeling about this. I want to be able to play the other races and explore all the storylines, just like everyone else does Im sure. At the same time though, I think this type of mixing is gona be hard to do without ruining the base idea of the story behind it. How do you have members of opposing factions hanging together, much less being in the same guild together, and still be true to the entire concept of the story?

I wont even go into how this would basically destroy the dynamics of how theyve set-up pvp. Lets just say that it would devastate the trust and social aspect of what guilds are supposed to be, as far as it relates to pvp.

What I expect to see, and have seen in other games, is sub-guilds belonging to other factions. I have mixed feelings about this idea as well, but it seems to me to be a better idea than letting them mix within a guild. Im curious to see what people think about this subject though. I have a feeling its gonna be another polarizing discussion. :)

i can see them doing it because to see all the content we will have to play all the factions. It would be nice to have the option to see a guildlist and guild chat while alting. Guilds not being alliance based might be nice. And when a guild wants to PvP or run some instance together they just get on the right toons.

I dont want to see mix guilds. To me that ruins the whole point of a guild as this game is set up. As far as playing on an alt and chatting with guild mates, i understand wanting to do that but there are ways outside of the game to do that. To me it will just ruin the immersion of the game if I'm supposed to be at war with the other factions yet I'm all buddy buddy with them outside of PvP. To me it just can't happen. If ZOS is going to let people have multiple factions in one guild they might as well just open the whole world to all factions.

I don't understand what the point of it is if they are not allowing the guild to share a chat channel, as they have said there is NO communication between factions so how are you going to be able to speak to the parts of your guild that is in other factions? I guess we will have to wait and see..

This may be because guilds could end up being account bound somewhat similar to the gw2 system but I highly doubt you will be able to play with your guildies when you switch to a character of a different faction. You will still be able to talk to them though.

Not Set
If guilds can be cross-faction, then it just seems arbitrary that the Campaign PvP is faction-locked.

Maybe their system will work, but it just seems to me that GW2's system of throwing all races in WvW together is better.

It's a great idea. For one thing, fighting in the war is entirely optional.

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

I strongly disagree with people in different factions being able to mix, pvp and seeing a rival faction member from afar is part of the thrill of the game, the stalking, chasing or the steel on steel, it makes the game, you don't want people walking over to them and striking up a conversation or selling stuff to the enemy. I plan to throw my weight in with the Daggerfall Covenant ad keep to my own kind, those who have sided with the enemy will be an enemy of Daggerfall.

I'm on the fence, if they make it so you can be on the opposing faction in the same guild, but can't play in the same pvp campaign as anyone in your guild who isn't in the same faction as you, then perhaps it might work?

Has anyone thought of those players that would like to freelance and not bother with war because that happens in wars all the time some people choose to fight alone or fight with a small group if friends. That and imagine the fun of a mixed guild making its own faction were they fight for there own reasons instead of the factions reasons. I mean open factions would leave more opitions and room for creativity for players.
