DISCLAIMER!
im typing on a galaxy tab which has decided to type caps for the start of most words so please just deal with it.Winking_grinning
Hi All I Stumbled Across This Website While Looking For Eso Info And Have Found It A Valuble Source Of intelligent Views On The Game.im A Huge Fan Of The Series For The Freedom It Gives The Player And Also A Huge Fan Of Multiplayer Pvp.

Now I Know Many People Are Fans Of The Lighter Gaming experience Style Mmos Which Have Little To No penalties For Things Like Death And Thats Fine.
There Are Others However That Prefer A grittier Game And Even Tho The Term 'realistic' In A Game That Has Talking Cats And Lizards And Everyones Basicly Gandalf On Meth Has Little Standing...I Think Authentic Would Suit It.

Im A Huge Fan Of Games Like Eve And Dayz For The Fact That You Really Get The Feel For Your Actions And Emotions Can Range From Heart Pounding Stress To Being Totally Proud Or Feeling Morbidly Stupid For Whats Happened.
I Think With The Esos Freedom Of Build, Size, And factions It Would Be An Amazing Game With A hardcore option.

Where I wouldn't Push Sofar as to Say Death Is Permanent Due To The Time It Takes To Level Your Avatar How you want Or Make Hunger An Issue The Thought Of What This Game would Be With Either Loot Drop Or Destruction On Death Is Something I Find Really Freakin Cool.
I Think As It Stands With Little penalty Many End Game Pvprs Will Eventually Get Bored But If You Add Risk Vs Reward Then it Becomes A whole new Game Since Yeah Thats One Badass Set Of Armour Your Rocking but Do you Have The Stones To Actually Wear It Into Battle.

If You Add The Concept Of Banks Being territorial So You Would Have To Be In The corresponding Province To access It Then It would make Supply lines An Actual Thing Since Most Gear Grinding Would Be Done In The Factions Home Provence Which For The Most Part Id Say Should Be Kept relatively Pvp Free....or not.

Anyway What Are Your Thoughts On It And Concepts Of A Hardcore Server.
Please Note that this Is not About Changing The Whole Game To This Style So If Its Not Your Cup Of Tea Thats Fine But Please Be constructive

Also I Think It Would Be Fair To Have Death Mean Drop Of Gear With Damage But No Loss If In Your Factions Area I.e You And Your Buddies Are Running Some Local dungeons In Your Home Province, That Way You Could At Least Have Your Friends Either Res You (yes I Think Res Via Stones Is A Good Idea) Or You Can Run Back To Your Corpse If Solo And Hopefully Get Your Stuff.
In Pvp Encounters Tho I Would Think A Drop Of Random Pieces You Have Intact While A majority Of It Being Deemed Broken And Only Good For Smelting Down...which Gives The Amount Of Gear In game A Chance To Deplete To Counter What Is Being Made Through Player Construction And Npc Drop.

Of Course Smelting Down Of Gear Would Be Important To Maintain The Condition Of A Players Pieces He Wants To Keep...and Of Course Since Its A Massive 3 Way War Resorces Should Be Important To All.

I Was Also Thinking Of The Idea Of The Home provinces In A Hardcore Mode.
Now I Understand In The Main Game There Are People Who Want To Stay To Themselves And Do Thier Own Thing Without Having To Think About The Pvp Aspect And Thats Totally Cool especially For A Tes Game Which Is Always An absorbing Game...but.
In A Hardcore Mode Imagine The Depth You Could Get If The Enemy Could actually come In..
Im Not Saying Make Everything Like Cyrodil, That Would Ruin The Game Imo And Grievers Would Run rampant.

Instead Being In Enemy Territory Would Have Definate Negatives Since Realisticly Your In The Hornets Nest But Also The Chance For Glory.
1.NO Fast Travel In Enemy Territory!
This Is A No Brainer. If Your Going To Roam Around In The Home Of Your Enemy Theres No Way You Should Be Able To Run In Cause A Ruckus Then Bail Out With Whatever you've pilfered Via A Wayshrine.
If Your Going In Your On Foot And Your Out On Foot, Mounts Would Be Viable But Noisy.

2. Spotting System
Enemy Npcs Can And Will Spot You If Your Not Careful! If Spotted Maybe A Global Message In Chat To The enemies Province Players I.e "oh Lawdy Lawdy 4 X Faction Are Heading south From Blah Blah. Of Course This Would Lead To Such Things As disguises And Some Kind Of Charisma Skills Being Options.

3. Npcs Are Not Pussies
Im Not Saying Godmode Or Harder Than Larger Enemies But npc Gaurds Of A Home Province Should Not Be Something You Want To Get The attention Of And Given the Entire Place Is In A State Of War Populated Areas Should Have A lot of Them Including Patrols.even if they Are dispatched By A Group They Add To The Fact Of Holding You Up And With the Spotting Its Giving Time For Players To Converge.

4.large Groups Are A Bad Idea!
Cyrodil Should Be The Main Goal for all The Alliances, Thats Where The Big Group Pvp Will Happen.if The Server Detects A Number Of Over X Enemy Players within a Certain Distance Of Eachother In A Home province Then Its Considered An Invasion And Spams Npc Gaurds To Engage Plus Of Course Players Flock Aswell.

5.rewards!!!
While With The Drop System Going Into the enemies Home Is Not Ideal For Trying To Gank People..altho People Will Anyway But That Just Adds To The Game, Id Like To See Things Such As sabotage Of Mines And Even Npc Quests available From Spies That Would Be detrimental To The War Effort..the Options Are Really Unlimited.

I'm all for playing on a hardcore server myself (unless permadeath was introduced, it is quite literally the ~only~ thing I will never support), and I think it'd be fun. Especially if done like EvE Online.

Exactly! Adding Loss Makes People Look At Situations More Realisticly And Evoke Such Things As Bravery And Cowardice ...in Large Fights You Would Actually Get People Runing Away If Tides Start Turning Instead Of Just Lemmings until They Run Out Of Spawns Or An Objectives Met

Agreed, the hardcore nature of eve is what keeps me playing today. I would love to have more hardcore elements in ESO.

I'm all for some type of loss upon death, but I hate equipment loss because then I just have to start over. Experience loss, money loss, durability loss, stacking health and stat penalties, and any number of other things are acceptable forms of punishment to me, but for the love of god just leave my equipment alone. I would rather lose my character for good then have to re-farm/grind for the same gear I just had.
