I like to group but i'm liking it less and less. First of all, almost everyone totally rushes through the dungeons. I try and read the notes that are lying around because I like story driven content. I also like to look around and explore a little. And folks just run around attacking stuff like it's a competition to be the most ass-whuppinest. When it comes time to talk to the npcs in the quest the other players just skip through the conversation just to get to the end faster. I often find that after I've talked to the npc the other players have long since left and are off to the next room.
And when it comes to fights everyone just runs around like dumbasses with no teamwork or coordination. Not always but mostly.

Then other people in the group say brb and make you wait or they get logged out. I don't know but a lot of times people I group with are suddenly offline with no warning.

so I'm rushing through at breakneck speed or waiting. That's a lot less fun than just playing solo.

and when I am playing solo and I go some place where players are crowded (the bank) there's some dipstick spamming the most obnoxiously loud, flashy, and camera shaking abilities. It makes basic transactions into an ordeal.

but in cyrodiil I don't have those problems. Once I leave my alliance's main areas I usually don't encounter other players at all.

Agreed. You need to find someone with your own interests in dungeon crawling, more like mine. But even I skip right through the dialogue if I have already been through it once or twice. I do loot things, and read everything. But I know what you are saying. I get this grp invite, in PvE solo, from a VR player; but I talk to him, ask him if he is questing, and he answers back 'LOL no just killing." So I ungroup, he just wants company while he kills monsters meh. Most other spur-of-the-moment grps have been such that the first time I get killed they ungroup, esp if I respawn at the wayshrine. It's like saying "I want to be your friend, and would love your help, but only if I don't have to help you."

I really think this will change in a few months, when the ppl that just play new games will move on after they get bored with it bc they didn't really play it right, just played PvP until bored. And many ppl just play this like it is jut another MMO, instead of using the unique ES abilities like crafting. See you in game hillmje.

I rarely group for that reason and going solo is problematic also. I tend to take my time so people are ahead of me clearing the path and there is nothing left for me to fight. I do like that TES seems to encourage spontaneous grouping and usually I accept group invites unless I have a compelling reason not to. I will resurrect someone if I can but resurrecting a third party takes too much time. I wish they would shorten resurrection.

The time sink for 3rd party resurrection can be problematic if I am getting attacked or need to be healing someone so they don't keel over. There have been times where I have actively tried to resurrect someone but because the mechanic takes so long they get frustrated and chose to respawn instead. I think it is just faster and easier if everyone comes prepared with filled soul crystals because resurrecting yourself is almost instantaneous. If soul crystals weren't so darn expensive and my characters weren't so poor all the time from sinking gold into inventory space I would hand filled soul crystals out at the beginning of dungeons to everyone.

i have always said, the worst thing for the mmo genre is its playerbase.

entitlement

adrenaline junkie "first to complain, first to leave" pvp crowd

elitism

attention spans of gnats

always. let the dust settle guys, stay off of tamriel foundry and their elitist Entropy Rising crowd and you'll be fine. this game will end up having a loyal and mature playerbase just like Lotro. it wont unseat wow, but it will maintain a niche crowd of laid back mature individuals.

hell swtor is still online right? swtor was terrible for the first year and 2 months. and now its been what? 3 years? still kicking? ok then, ESO aint going anywhere either.
