I was just watching a clip from harry Potter on Youtube and came across a comment " I wish that Harry potter never ended as they awesome film's to watch with the family... ". Then I thought, and what about TES series ? I mean, they certainly can`t last forever (although we all wish they could...). Sooo, what do you guys think, how many TES games will there be ?

And how could the graphics be further improved ? I hope one day we`ll be able to play TES X in those hologram room thingies, you know, like in Star trek.. Imagine stepping into a hologram and suddenly you`re in Helgen, you can feel fresh air while you`re walking to the executioner, you can feel the warmth of dragon fire attack etc. etc.

Why not make a list of all the things they can do and base future stories on ?
I`ll start:
-dwemer
-Thalmor
-... (your turn, I don`t wanna do it all by myself :P)

It'll never ever happen but I'd love to check out the continent of Akavir , the little bit's of lore and books in the games that talk about Akavir make me want to go there.

And I think (hope) that they make one game for each different province of Tamriel and I'd guess that while the Elder Scrolls games remain so hugely successful they will continue to create games based around one of the remaining provinces that hasn't already been done. And YES , I would LOVE a holodeck like Star Trek to play Skyrim on lol ... EPIC!

Why you think not ? Maybe there can be a story about Nerevarine, about how he settled in Akavir, and is fighting with the four nations there. maybe there can be a story about how Tamriel invades Akavit once again, or vice versa.

@smithy There are four other continents to explore. You could find out how Yokuda vanished and sank into the sea, is Aldmeris really a continent or just a collection of pictures in the mnds of the elves, Nords coming back to Atmora a fighting to re-establish their home once again, invasion on Akavir... endless possibilities.

Oh don't get me wrong , I'd love it if they made a game set in or around Akavir but personally I just don't think it'll happen , they are almost like the bogeymen of the Elder Scrolls games , at least in my mind , I think almost everything we know about them has been learned while they have been at war with Tamriel ( I'm not a lore expert so don't quote me on that )so they could be seen as the bad guys we know very little about , I like the mystery surrounding Akavir and the other continents is all I meant .

MANY I hope. With such a dynamic universe I'm sure TES wont go dry on creativity.

I honestly would love to see a TES game based on past events, but as time progresses as does the elder scrolls. So, any new TES games here on out will be based on events after Skyrim. None of TES games have ever backpedaled in time tmk.

You mean, like a remake ? I`d like them to make Arena and Daggerfall again, with newer graphics. I don`t care if the story stays the same just I`d like to see it in new graphics.

Since the Elder Scrolls series in focused on the world itself rather than individual characters, I'd imagine new entries to be made well into the forseeable future san any massive world catastrophes. Harry Potter on the other hand had a definitive end based on the story of... well, Harry Potter; so when his story arch ended so did the series. But the world of Nirn has a vast history and an ongoing future, so they can make plenty of games on it.

In terms of graphics, I have heard that making today's graphics even more extraordinairy increases costs so much that developers are wondering if it's really worth it. Even though the Elder Scrolls is a successful franchise with amazing graphics, I wouldn't expect to see a huge leap in its visuals unless games in general have a spike up in price. The balance between development costs and majority interest is a tricky thing to manage, and it will only become trickier as tech capabilities advance.

Helping out with the list of potential future games, I'll throw in a few ideas.

I'd imagine they will continue with their theme of going to a new province and saving all of Tamriel. I'm pretty interested to where they may go next, as they've already done games for the races that appeal to western markets, and the idea is to make the series even more popular. It wouldn't seem right to return to High Rock, as I'm sure there's diminishing returns in showing games with the environments of forests and mountains. I would think Hammerfell, Summerset Isles, and Valenwood are good canidates for the next game. They're much different than Cyrodill and Skyrim, in terms of basic environments or just exotic imaginative locales. Deserts, jungles, and a honed artificial landscape would stir up new interest in the way of "Wow, never seen that before in an open world game!"

They also keep things pretty diverse; with enemies ranging from Daedra to Dragons so I wouldn't expect them to retread those grounds. But every foe we've faced has been a threat to all of Tamriel, so it'll still be on a big scale like that. Next-gen might allow Bethesda to make bigger and better NPC battles like they've been trying to do with the Oblivion Crisis and the Skyrim Civil War.

Anyways, here's what I got:

1.) There are apparently great towers across Nirn that if tamprered with, could undo all of creation. The storyline could be that all of the towers except for one have been "deactivated" and in order to stop the destruction of the world, you must find and protect the last stone. This could be set in the Summerset Isles, and when the Crystal Tower fell during the Oblivion Crisis its stone was saved and hidden away. The enemies could obviously include the Thalmor but could be even more sinister agents from darker circles.

2.) For some reason I'm thinking I heard a rumor from somewhere in Skyrim that the Falmer were being driven towards the surface by something. Anyways, if this is true- bad things could go down from some foe from the depths of the world.

3.) In Valenwood, the Bosmer have this terrible ability/curse called the Wild Hunt. There could be a new storyline on how something is disturbing the native people of the forest, and some are becoming subject to the transformations without warning. Your storyline would be to find the source of this disturbance and stop it before all of the people in Valenwood are forced to take place in the Wild Hunt that destroys life across all of Tamriel. I figured this might be good, since it seems the enemies you encounter can be pretty varied and frightening. Still probably doesn't have that epic scale though unless it's portrayed in a certain way.

4.) Something, something, huge akaviri invasion on Tamriel, something, something. The people of Akavir have come under a single rule that is determined to conquer Tamriel. The Empire and Thalmor battle side by side to repel this overwhelming attack, allowing faction choice on who you want to assist.

Chances are though that Bethesda will create a new storyline out of an obscure text and expand on that for a new game. Much like how Alduin was subtly mentioned in Morrowind, but he only became this prophesized bad guy to be defeated in Skyrim.

I'd love to see Bethesda go into Akavir at some point. Preferably before ZOS does.

Honestly for me I don't much care where, but rather what we get.

I'd love the return of many weapon types such as in Morrowind.
The return of light medium and heavy armors.

I also think as opposed to what the story is, its more important to think about when it is.
I wouldn't mind some content around the time of Tiber Septim.

I would like to vist Hammerfell. We haven't really visted it yet, plus we have lore that we haven't experienced in Hammerfell.

I dont like how they neglect "Magic" element in recent TES games, the fact that you cant create spells any more, or the lack of certain spell property that could be used, like Magnetism form Shock spells to disarm opponents or disintegrate there armor, or gravity spells, or more illusion spells, or they re-discover Yakuda Earth magic, well you get what i mean. So i wish that in Next TES there would be some HUGE magic discovery, and the way you chose how to use said power would impact all of Tamriel.
With this in mind, best location for this should be in around Summerset Isles, i know its blasphemy but its possible Altmer Revolution when new faction rises to appose Talmor, but may be its too soon for that.
Well I would also love to see Akavir, but i dont know if they will do it.
