How much Realism in ESO?

Hey Guys and Gals. Tried to make this slightly humorous, but Warning: This is One Helluva List. Let me know what you like. What you don't. Why? Am I an idiot? Does some of this stuff seem pretty cool? Let me know.

This is more a wish list than anything. Some things I realize are more plausible than others. But, there are things that could add realism to the game that I would like to see. Most won't probably happen, but this is what I would have in my perfect MMO:

Large heaps of customizability in everything. If I want to dye my fur boots (uggs) pink, dont stop me. If I want to design a logo for my armor chest piece a la Black Ops Emblem or Halo style, let me. (don't judge me) Player housing. Guild Housing. Open World PvP with safe zones in cities. (If solo, you can only get attacked by players 4 levels lower or 4 levels higher. If grouping, the average level of the group within 5 levels of the average of the other group. Smaller groups get a slight buff based on how much they are outnumbered. And both sides have to agree to fight.)

Marriage. To girls, guys, cats, lizards, sweetrolls, whatever you fancy. Professions. Taverns. Tavern games. Realistic weather changes. Combat that has good hit detection. Effective Damage for quicker skirmishes in PVP and PVE. No more launching 50 arrows and spells to kill one troll (probably while hiding on a rock you jumped that it can't somehow climb) when you shouldnt have been messin with it in the first place. Ability to choose your religious deity. Divines. Daedra. Ancient Heros. Whatever. Have something magical happen. Enough prayers, give me a blessing. Allow me to shoot holy lighting from the Lost Arc with my holy hands and melt faces off of nazis ( in this game, lets call them Gangkers)

Also, instead of the standard guilds (Fighter, Mages, Thieves, Dark Brotherhood, Gladiator) maybe branch to "guilds" that are in conflict with these common guilds. Like a Mercanary group that doesnt follow the code of conduct the fighters guild does. Necromancy Guild, sworn enemies of Mages Guild. Maybe a unit that is like a guard/detective unit that hunts thieves guild members. Or a Pirates Guild. like the thieves guild, but you kill the crap out of people and shirts and shoes are optional. Thow your allegiance to a noble House or Liege. This way there can be rivalries outside of the race vs race and faction vs faction.

Finally... 1st person. I WANT TO SEE MY HANDS. I have them, I should see them. Specially if I want to max my hand to hand combat skills.

/end ramble

What are you guys thinking? What you would like to see to make this game "realistic"? Or realistic to the lore/fantasy world anyway.

Well, a lot of this, sorry to say, isn't going to be in the game. . Marriage I'm not sure on, but you won't be able to see your hands. . There's another forum which discusses it, but in the end you don't want that in an MMO. . You'd not be able to see anything at all going on. Imagine all the animations flying around and you become so blind you can't see what to hit or what's hitting you. Would end up turning into a problem for most people & everyone would just go to third person so they can actually contribute to fights.

As far as lore goes this game is going by a period of time in which nothing is written. Ergo, they have the ability to write what they wish. I'm sure some may disagree, but I'm sure they're conferring with Bethesda on Lore all the time so I'm not worried about that at all. I personally love the lore, but I would say I'm only an apprentice when it comes to knowing all of it. . if that.

I love the idea of having more than just the guilds represented in TES IV-V. As far as Necromancy Guild, Mannimarco is a bad guy which sort of created necromancy (correct me if I'm wrong), so I don't think we'd be able to be a necromancer. There again you could go conjuration mastery and say you are for fun's sake. Buut yah, I would love to see more than just Fighters, Mages, & thieves guild w/ the Dark Brotherhood thrown in. Something I'd also like to see for replayability's sake is where if you should choose to join something like the Fighter's Guild, they have some sort of scuffle with people of the Mages guild. So, when you gain rep with Fighters you don't get to do stuff for the mages. That way when you play an alt you have a large amount of new quests you weren't able to do before.

I reeeeeaaally hate the idea of marriage in video games. It just reminds me of a poor anime MMO which had to go free from not enough people or something.. bleh.. They're adding last names too, and if they do what I'm hoping for Roleplaying's sake, they make it to where if you have the last name as someone else you can put backstory of the relation (if any) between you and that person. I do know with combat they don't plan on making the stale "one big boss battle" that we may be used to in PvE scenarios. To my knowledge, they plan on a more ManyVsMany scenario. . so if you enter a room and start fighting one guy the whole room goes after everyone so it becomes a big battle. If you think about it, this was exactly how TES games played out. . you couldn't fight one guy and 10 ft away another guy is made not to move until you get so close to them or pull them.

As far as customization goes, as long as they have a good character creation I should be fine. I'd like there to be as detailed or more detailed of a customization ability as Skyrim. I also love the idea of something like guild insignia's or what not & armor dying. It'd be amazing if when you craft armor you're given a customization chart similar to that of the character creation portion. That way if I want really spikey orcish armor I can make it on my own. Of course stuff you find has it's already made look, but whatever I craft I get to choose what it looks like. I doubt they'll have this much customization buuuut I think that'd be wicked awesome. :3

I prefer max realism. Not taking away the fantasy such as magic and fictional creatures and such.

If you're not using a weapon, I can assure you that you're already dead.

Agree - Not being able to see your hands as in previous ESO Games was a bummer for me. Epecially as I always play Oblivion, Skyrim and so on in First Person.. Suppose I wil "have" to zoom out.
Also marrying a Sweetroll? Oh God Yes. I want that.

Unfortunately Im afraid @Kilivin is probably right about the fact that most of this wont be included, at least not to the degree you want in some cases. But Id say:

---Customizability: Yes, I like lots of it as well. Most of this can be handled in the "char creation" stage. I like some options for guild/faction like logos and emblems (perhaps make this something for crafters). I dont mind the dyes in a game but I think they can get carried away too.

---Marriage: NO, not in an MMO

---Alternate/opposing in-game guilds or factions: I like it. It leaves a lot of room for some interesting ideas and options. I like the idea of having to choose a route and then live with that choice, in regards to certain groups like this.

---First person view: Im not even touching this one. Theres an entire thread on this already, and its a hornets nest Im not opening again. :)

I love the emblem idea, like making a house crest on your armor. i wouldn't mind sacrificing another ebony ingot to make a crest on my armor in a house crest symbol.

I love the alternate guilds idea, but I'm sure you could just do those on your own anyways, and tying with the customization with armor it could get really cool, being a pirate and putting your crest on armor to signify your organization :D

Man, I forgot about prisons. I would still like it for people who commit crimes to either get hunted down by the guards, or by other players. Makes life as a thief that much more exciting. Plus, that's a pretty big staple throughout ES games.

Don't know what the penalties should be for spending time in prison... but I'm sure it's definitely a possibility.

It would be funny if they actually do add marriage XD
I hope they add prisons and cool criminal stuff like that, maybe outlaw posters and players could hunt you down XDDDD
