Ok I was just pondering and I relise that I'm torn. I love the versatility of a Templar but I just love the sorcerers abilitys. When I play classes I like to be generic because when I play a Sorcerer I want to be a mage or a Templar I would be a Healer/DPS with the capacity for Tank. So you know I'm going Breton full stop but want to know your opinion. In previous TES games I've always used some form of magic in all my builds. I have played both Paladin and Mage and loved both in all aspects, maybe a deeper RP with the Mage, but both has their attributes and I'm suited to both classes. It is incredibly hard.

Idealize an archtype for each build, then choose the one you feel more connected to. If that doesn't help, a good way to figure out which one you really want to go with is what vigk vagk posted earlier on:

Yeah good, ill do both, first I will create a fully fleshed out character for both then flip a coin if its not clear to me, suggestions still welcome though for people torn in the future. So now the topic changes to: What would you choose in my situation? Templar or Sorcerer?

My roommate is the one who taught me that one. Worked for him every single time, and he was never disappointed with the outcome.

You definitely have a dilemma here. If I were you, since you're going to be sticking to the archetype of your class go Templar. As you said it's far more versatile, and there are MANY things you could do while still being a Templar. I wouldn't want you to start to hate your first character because you want to start trying X thing but it doesn't fit with the idea of a Sorcerer. A Templar would keep the gates open to you for most anything other than a bow or daggers.

That was really helpful!

Here is how I make tough desicions. If I'm having to choose between 2 things (any even number of choices really) I buy a bag of skittles. On a piece of paper a write out a tournament bracket and put a skittle on each choice. 2 choices match up, I place 2 skittle between my finger and thumb and push till one gets crushed. That skittle and thus that choice moves on to the next round. It gets the decision made, it's fun, and its delicious. Win-win-win.

I noticed the mistake and hoped others wouldn't. Oh god is what it should be.
