Information package regarding Crowd Control

Due to the newest leak people have started to worry regarding crowd control, its role and its balance. So I found it important to write a little thread telling us what we know regarding the subject, putting many minds at ease.

The crowd control abilities:

- They have no cool down
- Typically possess a rather high resource cost
- The game has no diminishing returns or any other form of automated immunities to disables

Countering the crowd control abilities:

- Every player has inbuilt ability (does not take up a hot bar or passive slot) that removes the crowd control effect and provides a 7 seconds immunity to crowd control at a noticeable cost to stamina. This ability can be used by holding down both mouse buttons while CC'ed (keep in mind that the duration is subject to change)

- Players can assign abilities to hot bar that provide counters to crowd control effects. Such as "Immovable" ability from heavy armor skill tree line: "Provides immunity to stuns and knockback effects for x seconds" Keep in mind that this ability has a resource cost, but no cool down. So your character can be stun & knockback immune as long as you have the resource (stamina / mana) to use it.

What about Null Magic, Sorcerer ultimate, i am not sure, but is it possible it creates area in which people cannot be CC?
This leads me to belive that Sorcerer may prove very effective support class in PvP.

Afaik Anti-magic field is target class = enemy, so it is most likely a buff stripper than a debuff stripper.

Well it said, "-Dispel enemy magic Effect in area", i though root and stuns are considered as magic effects, so i may be wrong.
Anyway 5s silence is always a nice touch.
I wonder is silence permanent for its duration? or can we break it at cost of stamina like other CC?

The direct tool tip (I hate these beta tool tips, so placeholders as they can get):
– AoE dispel, casting enemy silenced for 5sec and heavily damaged, lasts 8 sec

So its pretty much a hostile AoE purge with damage. It has range of 28 meters and radius of 8 meters. This means that its pretty much a single target spell that's effect radiates 8 meters. Game mechanics wise I believe it purges positive effects, silences and and deals damage.

However, its completely plausible it may dispel even negative effects, such as root or snare. That would make the spell positively weaker, though.

I do not know if we can dispel silence with the standard method, but silence immunity is a potential counter-spell available.

this is going to be interessting to see how it works and how much resources it cousts. i hope it will be well balanced ( if thats possible with so many possible builds) for the "mage vs melee" combat.
