I would like to see instanced guild housing at launch. This is how I would like for it to work.

Your guild banners(with logo/colors) will hang from the outside of your fort and one inside the mead hall

They wont be dark and gloomy like buildings kinda were in skyrim. They will be bright and vibrant.

The guild hall will be located in your alliance capital city and you will see a guild hall in a certain district. You can approach the door and click enter. You will be phased into your guilds hall. If you are not in a guild it will give you a message "You are not in a guild or your guild has not purchased a guild hall"

You have to pay a pretty large amount of gold to purchase a guild fort. Each tier cost more than the previous one.

Guild Vendor npc: wears the guilds tabard and sells products. products depend of fort tier

Mead Halls have bars with a bar vendor in which you can get alcohol for you RPers.

There will be a few guard npcs wearing the guild tabard to make the fort feel more immerse.

Dueling between players can occur outside.

Players can leave the fort by leaving through the front gate. which will teleport them to the alliance capital city.

You can choose between 3 different outside environments depending on your faction
DC: Forest, Desert, TBD
EP: Snow, Marsh, TBD
AD: Forest, TBD, TBD

Tier 1 Hall

* Small Mead Hall

* Guild Bank/Personal Bank

Tier 2 Hall

* Medium Mead Hall

* Guild Bank/Personal Bank

* Guild Vendor: Tabards, Repair

Tier 3 Hall

* Large Mead Hall

* Guild Bank/Personal Bank

* Guild Vendor: Tabards, Repair

* Crafting room(crafting station)

* Crafting Supply Vendor(Mining Picks, Smithing hammer, etc.)

Tier 4 Hall

* Large Mead Hall

* Guild Bank/Personal Bank

* Guild Vendor: Tabards, Repair

* Crafting room(crafting station)

* Crafting Supply Vendor(Mining Picks, Smithing hammer, etc.)

* Outdoor courtyard(Think Similar to the forts in skyrim but a little nicer looking)

* Stables in the courtyard w/ Guild Mount Vendor
(Sells guild armored warhorse that display the guild logo/colors.)

* Practice Dummies in courtyard for testing abilities and your damage.

Tier 5 Hall

* Large Mead Hall

* Guild Bank/Personal Bank

* Guild Vendor: Tabards, Repair, Guild Bonues

* Crafting room(crafting station)

* Officers Quarters (room only accessible by officers and higher)

* Guild Dueling Room
(form a group and talk to one of the two npcs to register your team for a duel and have the opposing guild group talk to the other npc, Then it will prompt members of both groups a ready button and when both groups click ready it will teleport both teams into the arena and starts a countdown. When you lose all hp your character takes a knee and cannot be attacked, you sit and wait until a one team is left standing. Then you are teleported back out. Other guild members can watch from the outside but cannot enter. This will be good for practicing and friendly competition between guildies.)

awesome idea, reminds me of a game I've played. Can't remember which, but they had something similar. I think Warhammer Age of Reckoning maybe? Idk, but when I read this at first, I thought of Beowulf CG movie lol

Hmm. it does not have to be a fort.
Could be just a guild hall, thats more befitting for TES. Forts are something that belongs to Cyrodiil.

I definitly agree that i want something like this. But i got a way better idea of implementing it.
We have seen something like this in MoP in WoW and i can see this working in TESO:

Phasing.

Imagine in a City, there will be a large Plaza where you can find The Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild and probably a tavern where the Thiefs guild is stationed.
But now imagine there to be another house on that Plaza. Your guild Hall.

How does that work? Phasing!

Basically you would have one basic space where a guild Hall can be errected. Its just an empty space on the world map if you are in no guild. But what actually happens is that there is a specific phase only on where the house is, around it there is just the regular City.
So when you join a guild, you can actually build your guild hall on top of it.
The cool thing is that it will look like its a part of the world. Youll wander to the plaza and there is it. With guild banner and all the jazz.

The same could work for housing too.

And now think what they could do with this. A Space in the world. Where you can build your house like you could in Heartfire. Or even BUILD the guildhall yourself. That would be amazing.
Amazing i tell you!

Yea that's how I would have it work with phasing. Except I would make it where the hall is already built but your guild has to buy it and from there on they can upgrade it.

id say youd have to buy the place where it stands either way.
Just the way i suggest it you could have a smaller guild hall for smaller less influential guilds and a realy big one, as impressive as those of the Warriors or Mages guild, if you are a large Raiding guild with alot of members.

Yea i think it would be a good idea to choose which size mead hall you want as long as you've already purchased the proper tier

Like this, except with tons of places to build houses and guild halls, so everyone in your faction isn't sitting in front of the same phased guild halls.

I'd also like to be able to take a fort for your guild, and use it as a Guild Hall. Set up banners on the walls and such,

Guild forts shouldn't be instanced, they should be capturable parts of Cyrodiil.

Maybe have a fully upgraded fort for guild housing for the highest guild, highest 3, etc.

YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

this idea could solve the problem of the invisible walls which deny you acces to enemy territory. because one of the arguments for the invisible walls was that you would be nowhere save if people could enter enemy territory. this idea with impregnable cities or fortresses around it could solve that problem. and it would be totally awsome if they had npc's spawning(amount depending on level player(s) each time you enter enemy territory.

not only for specific guilds, for the whole faction. or a city with multiple halls in it

We're talking about guild housing not Cyrodiil. It will be a private place for guilds to hangout or it could act as a base for roleplayers. They will be located in the alliance capital city. I'm pretty sure there will be public places in the alliance capital city where players of the faction can hang out.

I have always wanted a guild hall for the Crimson Blades in World of Warcraft, it has been discussed in the forums for years, and has always been ignored by Blizzard, if TESO develops this concept into their game then it will be such a leap forward for MMOGs. It will be great once we reach endgame and instead of hanging around Trade areas have somewhere that our guild can call home.

As we had two guilds in wow Crimson Blades PvE on Saurfang and BloodOath PvP on Stormscale we do enjoy a little RPG so initiating new members in the main hall, performing a special bloodoath and initiation would be cool with a large group of on lookers. After a heavy or intense battleground where victory was the outcome where the guild had really pushed for it, a celebration in the mainhall, perhaps even trophies and decorations awarded for victories in the battleground, beasts heads to furnish the walls of the guild hall.

In the bigger upgraded guild halls, raid end boss trophies, for example, in world of warcraft there was a segment of deathwing in oggrimar near the portals, maybe an endgame boss segment for when guildies walk in they can see instantly what hardships the guild has overcome

this is an exciting option for guild masters and members also, giving lots of options, statues, raid victory pieces be that the heads of beasts, segments of there armour, full body armour from a boss, coats of arms, a full body sized coat of arms for the pvp arena champions etc, this has the potential to bring some much needed fun into the MMOG world.

I actually support guild halls much more than player housing, I think they are much more useful and they foster the idea of community that should always be encouraged in a MMO. I don't think we will see this at launch, they would have probably announced it by now, but we might see it getting in later. This kind of thing is robust, it's not something you just go and put in the game, it needs to be well done and tested so it provides the correct level of customization and fits well within the whole game context, otherwise it is better not done at all.

Think a lot of roleplayers, including myself would love to see this ingame.
Sadly Zenimax hasn't announced anything about it, so I'll doubt we'll see it at the game release.. Might be added in the future tho!
