Instancing in this game is a huge problem!

Let me start off by saying that I had to spend damn near 2 hours trying to complete one single quest because there were 20 other players just like me competing for the same objective in a tiny ass cave..

Instancing in this game has led to problems like:

  1. Bots teleporting and stealing nodes before real players can get to them.
  2. Quest objectives taking FOREVER to complete.
  3. Breaking character immersion with so many damn people around you at all times.

There are many more I discuss in the video but to not bore you guys to death with this post, let me go ahead and get right into what I think can fix the problem!

- Respawns rates should be increased in zones where there are too many players and respawn rates should normalize in not so crowded areas. -

This can obviously be exploited so maybe find trending zones and limit spawns and be wary of who is where.

I'm curious to know what the rest of you think!

1. If someone is really using Bots, you need to report it, because I am pretty sure that is illegal.

2. See final remarks.

3. It is an MMO. There are going to be a lot of people around you in the public areas unless your a new character and no one else is, or you are a high level character and no one else is, or if the game is dead and no one is playing. There is no getting around this as it is what it is. You even stated this in your video. I guess what you are getting at is this feels less like an ES game because of it, but they made an ES MMO, so people had to have known there would be a ton of people in the game. Not sure how you would address this.

To sum up, it seems your biggest problem is in the respawn rates when a lot of people are after the same thing. It would be nice if they could monitor how many people are in an area on the same quest and increase the respawn rate accordingly, but I don't know how feasible that would be. Another solution is to instance all of this to the player only, but then you kind of defeat the purpose of an MMO.

This game allows 2 random people to both get loot and experience if they happen to kill the same monster (in theory, have not tried it myself), so there is never an issue of someone 'stealing' your kill. I don't see why they can't apply this to quest objectives, so that if 10 people kill the same NPC at the same time they all get credit for the quest. Perhaps that is what they will do, or maybe the issue you had is actually a bug, and it is supposed to work like this already.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

I always get credit for end objective kills even if someone is there first. All you have to do is run up and join the fight, as long as I do some damage I get credit, so I have not experienced this particular problem. Resources are hard to come by and I hate having to use skill points in order to get enough resources to level crafting. I have had some issues when soloing a cave. Sometimes if I am the only one there taking down the boss and think 'awesome!' because I barely had any health left and almost lost just to have the boss respawn 5 seconds later and kill me while trying to loot.

So while I think you have valid points, I just don't think getting overly upset is going to solve anything. If this game isn't fun don't play it. If it is bugging you and can be fixed report it to Zenimax and then let it go. Obsessing over every issue with a game is just going to ruin the fun. When something upsetting happens I shrug my shoulders, take appropriate action and then let it go.

The reason ZOS changed the Addon thing was to limit bots. Report bots if you see them and get them banned. I've also found no problem with not being able to get quest objectives, been pretty smooth and easy for me.

I have no issues with anything you have mentioned, you will find that bots exist only in the starter areas. and please report them, the more we report the more information they can get and the better chance they have of stopping them.

You will find there are a lot of people around quest spawns because its still early in launch. Wait a month or 2 and you will find that the amount of people around in the starter areas drops significantly.

this game is perfect and its the best on the market. you are complaining because you have a personal problem and you want to continue playing and you are hoping that more people will have the same problem so that your personal problem doesnt seem so personal.

This kind of offensive defending of a game that has barely launched, and certainly still has issues is not healthy for the game. The more players deny that the game has its issues, the less likely developer's are in rush to do anything about them. Perfect game? Far from it. Best on the market? A matter of personal perspective. But the game still has its bugs, it has the problem with respawn rates on certain quests (Try saving some villagers on AD in the starting area and race to put down those fires with other people, that quest takes 30 mins to complete thanks to the racing of people, and its annoying).

And I am staying neutral here, but the respawn rates synced to the amount of players in the area, I find that a good suggestion.

Read the description of the quests closer, and use the quest items for hints.

On this quest you do not have to put the fires out. You might (and many do) believe so because of the Hint. But there are dozens of trapped civilians to be saved on that quest that are outside the houses and in the surrounding area of the village. It takes 2-3 minutes to do that part of the quest actually.

I'm curious to know what the rest of you think!

1) If you believe someone is bot. Report him. I haven't problem to access the resources. Might be the case on the start island, but the rest are total wilderness. And on the third area, the wild frontiers. It will take you time to find someone. I have gathered a lot of resources, especially metal, to raise my skills and keep me supplied with crafted items all the time. (including potions, food & enchantments).

2) Depends the quest and what it needs. But usually isn't the case. Look the quest description and any quest items that might contain hints.

There were 15 people in a tomb at Grahtwood trying to solve the puzzle with the 3 items and the 12 shrines. It took me 2 minutes to figure out the puzzle by reading the book, and looking the shrines. I went in, finished the quest, got out, and all of them were still there complaining that isn't working.

Same goes to some quests that tell you to go to X place, while the marker is on the wrong place. Just read the descriptions.

3) Is an MMO not single player game. Probably not a game for you then.

As for you main issue with many people waiting to kill the same boss, yes that is the case everywhere, however more or less can be done. You only have to hit the mob once to get credit. Twice and you will get the loot. If you can heal people, especially as templar, you do not have to either bother hitting it. Cast some AOE healing spells, and you get the credit and the loot also :)

If you see one area is too crowded for your liking, just log out. Log in an alt. Log the alt out, and log back in again with your main 99% of the time you will be dropped on a different instance.

(if you log out and log in with same character 90% of the time you will be back on the same instance as before though).
