Faction & Race:
Ebonheart Pact
Imperial
Name: Iogairn Mogrin

Title: Half-Nord

Race: Imperial (Reachmen blood)

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Occupation: Insurrectionist/bard/poet/mage/vagrant/professional bastard

Appearance: Brown, layered hair reaching to the back of his neck and framing his face. Has green eyes. Tall and broad shouldered but always having a ready smile for a joke. High cheekbones with a strong jawbone.
Usually either wearing green and brown or a white undershirt with a black jacket. These are enchanted to give some protection as well as a certain charm.

Weapons: Carries a steel blade and a dagger.

Personality: Finds it hard to take the truth seriously (as it is much easier to forget) and is always cracking jokes. Despite his cynicism, he does have a strong sense of justice; he simply feels that it is unattainable. He enjoys pressing people and challenging ideas and, while articulate, does not particularly care for flattery unless it serves a purpose.

Background: He was brought up in a small mining village in Cyrodiil, and worked on it with several other families. During this time, he learned a particular fondness for magic tricks. He used these tricks to avoid doing work at whatever oppurtunity, instead preferring to spend his time in a tavern in Chorrol earning drinks with his tricks.

When he was sixteen, war was brewing in Tamriel. The Tharns decided that more men needed to be drafted into the legion and that mines which were performing sub-par would be shut down for inefficiency. When the legion came to take the young men from the mining village, the miners (led by Iogairn's father) confronted them, as taking away this manpower would leave the village as economically inefficient and this would destroy the lives of those living there. A fight ensued.

Iogairn was in Chorrol at the time and on his return he saw the smoke rising from his home. The mine had been barricaded and the village was burnt. A dozen men and women lay strewn across the supposed battle ground, including Iogairn's father. Iogairn had no knowledge as to how this occured, as the bodies of the guards had been taken away.

Assuming that this had been the work of bandits or dissidents, Iogairn joined the Imperial Legion (all irony would become apparent to him later). He was taught as a battle mage, learning skills in destruction and how to use a long blade while perfecting his skills as an illusionist and a conjurer.

However, two years into this career, he was drinking with his fellow soldiers. One of them started talking about the incident in the village and had laughed at a certain Reachman who had killed two of the soldiers' friends before being shot by arrows. The rest of the soldiers laughed but Iogairn knew that this Reachman was his father. He felt disgusted and betrayed. The thought came into his head that he could kill them all. He was perhaps as skilled as most lay soldiers in solid combat and had the advantage of skills. But he knew he'd never escape alive. Instead, he disguised himself, sneaked into the captain's quarters and burned all records of his existence in the military. Assuming his safety from execution for desertion, he ran away into the night.

For a good few months, he didn't know what to do. Aside from drink. He drank a rather large amount. And travelled. And worked. And drank some more.

But after a certain drunken fight was resolved with the use of magic, Iogairn was recommended into the Mages' Guild. After taking some while to complete the recommendations, at nineteen years old, Iogairn began studying at the Arcane University.

For three years he enjoyed it. He discussed with academics and made fast friendships. He also continued his training with a long blade, learning from duelling masters in the Imperial City. However, his natural distaste towards the wealthy and soliders meant that he spent a rather large amount of time at the waterfront, drinking with dock labourers and (later) thieves, sometimes joining the latter by aiding them with his skills of illusion and speechcraft. He made very sure not to mix these two circles of friends. However, eventually his accumulating hatred of certain wealthy students and conflict over a girl ended in a duel. While no-one was killed, Iogairn was cast out of the university. He joined an old friend from his years in Colovia as part of an acting troupe and has been travelling, stealing and causing trouble for authority ever since.

Best Memory: Spending a night researching mysticism with a bottle of wine and a girl he had grown to care greatly for.

Worst Memory: Seeing his family slaughtered and his home burned.

Skills: He has had training in illusion, alteration, mysticism and destruction regarding his ability in magic, as well as being more than capable with a long blade. However, is his wit, cunning and manipulative manner are the two most helpful aspects to hi

Challenges: While intelligent, can often let his choler get the better of him and is often irresponsibly brash, just assuming that things will work out later if he jokes, lies and drinks his way through it.

Religous Views: As a curious young man who had grown up resenting authority, he had moved away from the Divines and preferred to go the Daedric Lords for aid. While he would never have called himself a follower as such, he definitely respected them a great deal more than the Divines. However, the Daedric Princes he had associated himself with were the more benevolent of them: Meridia, Azura and Sanguine. After an attack on innocents by followers of Mehrunes Dagon, he learned to shift himself away from such elements. Now, he has an open mind to both (and when really in trouble tends to be a lot more open minded to both Aedra and Daedra).

Political Views: Firmly anti-establishment. While not a lover of violence, he won't mind outsmarting guards and nobles for a little extra money. He rejects all sides of the conflict in the way, seeing them as all the same in some form or other. However, he does oppose the supremacist vibes of the Thalmor in the Aldmeri Dominion more than anything else.
