I can sometimes see people arguing whether talos is a divine or not. I'm not sure if he is but i have vague memories of using a piece of his armor to close an oblivion gate in the 4th (?) game. Would that suggest that he is a divine?

Yes, he is. He used the White-Gold tower to do some magical buggery called CHIMing which made him a god. At least thats what I heard. I will look up some sources...

Yes, as far as I know, Talos is actually a God.

So he hasn't drained any of his powers into the creation of Nirn?.

He is a god, but not an et'Ada.

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

everyone is an et'ada to some degree.
At least in form of subgradient.

but no talos is not one of the earthbones or one of the original spirits of creation.
Tho he might have CHIMed himself to always have been there (Vivec did that)
Cyrodiil beeing a jungle in 2E kinda points towards him taking this step...

Anyone can become a god, if he's worshipped by many.
I believe that's what really made him a divine, but no one can ever be sure.

walk like them until they have to walk like you.

Worship alone doesnt work.
you also have to act like a god.

Arrogance helps. And Hjalti had that in spades.

Do you mean that from worship he transcended the bonds of mortality?.
Kinda similar to the big E in warhammer 40k if any of you have heard.

it goes beyond that.
Talos transcendet the laws of nature.
The very fabric of the universe.

He figured its all just the Dream of the Godhead. And this means he *is* the Godhead.

And it is for his love to shape the world as he sees fit.

Yes he is. In the Oblivion main quest you need the blood of an aedra for the portal to Mankar Camoran's paradise. The player finds his blood stained armour, in the ruins of Sancre Tor and the ritual works. Common folk believe that the other Divines made him a divine but it has been noted that it was due to his use of the Heart of Lorkhan.

he may be worshipped and praised as one he may have untold amounts of power, but so did hitler... if he was a true divine why doesnt he make contact and let his presence be known to his followers? most other Aedra and Daedra have and continue to advise and counsel their followers Talos does not... he was but a man, dragonborn yes but that is the extent of his "divinity"
