Is this game for me?

Hey guys,
I've been keeping up with listening to the podcasts out there, and reading up on the limited info out there, and I'm really undecided if this game is for me!

- I'm an mmo'er, I don't like playing solo console rpgs as I find it too lonely and want something more "social"
- I've never played any of the elder scrolls games and have no interest to.
- The mmos I've played are Aion, Rift, Tera and GW2.
- I LOVE PvP. I love owPvP (with objectives!), sieges and instanced pvp.
- I HATE instances/dungeons raids. I haven't run any end game raids/instances in all of the mmos I've played.
- I skip reading lore in quests and any cut scenes.
- I spend all of my time in owpvp or instance pvp in all of the mmos I've played, either solo/small groups.

I don't mind a little of PVE instances, but I might decide to run an instance 2-3 times a month.
And obviously I don't mind pve to level up, but I'm really big on PVP.

I'm still undecided along with guildies if this game will be attractive to mmo players like us?

From what it sounds like your mostly a pvp type of person and in this game you have choices of what you want to do and you can do pvp the entire time if you want. If I were you I would get the game and see how you like it because the elder scrolls games are really fun and addicting and they added pvp which should make it more interesting, so give it a shot and if you dont like it you can always sell it.

is it true though that you can avoid pve if you want to pvp?

and can pvers avoid pvp? that's the thing I'm afraid of. There won't be pvp if pvers can get away with avoiding pvp.

There will be plenty of people doing PvP. The reason being is that once you hit lvl 10 or so you can head into Cyrodiil. You can do all of your leveling in Cyrodiil. You can focus on PvE if you want while in there with a potential for PvP to spring up OR you can roam around and ONLY kill other players. You can literally go from 10 to 50 only killing players. As you probably know by now if you've been checking podcasts and such that PvP is a three-way faction warfare to take control of points on the map such as keeps and resources. There is no instanced PvP that I know of: only the open world PvP in Cyrodiil. Although the lore is what gives meaning behind what's going on nobody is forcing you to pay attention to it. If you like the gameplay, then hey, good for you and have fun. And while yes, people can go through the entire game and never step foot in Cyrodiil, you can level up while there and get some pretty good weapons and armor and such. Even people that mostly like PvE but don't mind some PvP can greatly benefit from heading into Cyrodiil meaning I doubt there will be problems with not enough people (especially considering there are no separate servers meaning everyone who is playing the game is put into the same PvP pool).

thanks for your response!
"You can literally go from 10 to 50 only killing players."
That was definitely intriguing. Although that's not the best route to do it, it's good to be ale to do a mix.

I figured as much about people not having to step into Cyrodiil... it's a bit alarming as I have a feeling that people will pve to get the best gear and only then set foot in the pvp area.

I hope to get into the next betas to try it out but I'm not sure if it will keep me for past the first 2 months? But I am willing to try it out as it sounds like a promising game.

Sounds like lots of O-PvP with objectives, It should be cool. I also am a PvP-er for the most part and as you said I will pve to lv. and do some other pve stuff as needed or to help the guild. I am concerned with the pc version still being far to console friendly though and that should be a concern. I do look forward to loads of PvP though and am hopeful like you and will spend most of the time doing just that. Lainey I beleave I know you from other games, what Is your guild.

Yeah I am worried about the console and pc and mmo portion.

I am certain there will be pvp at launch, but I am wondering if the pvp is sustainable pvp.

I look forward to seeing you ingame, whether as a friend or foe =)

My guilds were Final Boss and PlanB.

Yea menu under menu and It being clunky as It has been put so far, just to much like the console for a MMO as of now. Not good for Pvp, but we shall have to see. Objectives adds life to It though and makes It abit more sustainable for sure. As to knowing you yes I do.

I got invited but missed the beta, hoping there's another and another invite comes. Our past guilds know each other from other games.

This game is going to be based around PVP in a co-operative way. So that means joining a guild or getting online with some friends. Sure there's loads to do as a single player but if you want to be emperor then PVP is where your going to want to be.
