From what I've read it sounds like leveling will be exp based to give more appeal to the MMO crowd.

I doubt leveling will be hard at all, just time consuming. I think the challenge of the game will come with end game PvP and PvE dungeons/raids.

Pretty much this.

We're getting an MMO. Its gonna have TES features, but its an MMO. EXP based systems are likely for both your character and equipment levels.

If it was like skyrim I'd reach my cap within 3 days hardcore gaming so if it thing they'll at least prolong those aspect especially given how much more area there is to explore compared to the single player games

@Tricer They may follow the same tactic, but adding a more demanding mode so as to make it more time consuming let's say...
If it's going to be as easy as Skyrim, it won't be an MMO at all.

As in all MMO´s I know so far quest give XP I don´t think it´s gonna be else in TESO.

Maybe they splitt up "Quest"-XP and "Activity"-XP. "A"-XP are equal to gain XP in eg. Skyrim by only doing something, like hitting an enemy or using a spell. Q-XP can be used only for buy perks, A-XP can be used to buy perks and increase The char´s traits (Stamina, Health, Magicka).

So if you quest, but keep yourself out of battle you are rewarded with more abilities. But if you go into battle you will get stronger, too.

I don't agree with quest XP because IMHO it means the GMs want to hurry you along to level 50 along set pathways (quests) instead of exploring the world and getting combat XP. In some games that's okay, because endgame is the largest part of the game. However, for TES games, the journey to get to level 50 should be as entertaining and engrossing (or even more so) than endgame.

I think quests should just get you some loot. Or they could give quest "points" which you can spend in a special shop.

I agree with Cools-His-Hands, quest = XP was never in TES, so I don't like the idea of adding it in the on-line.

Mhh, yeah, this points are against Quest-XP.

But on the other hand, if quest don´t give XP and you finished main story, what reasons you have to ever again get a quest done and not simply run arround planlessly killing everything in an ineffecient manner to gain more XP from a higher hit number?

Of course, Story loving gamers will always do quests and greet every new content, but how about the others?

Quests may give some other bonuses that are crucial for a character's improvement.

Apart from the main quest, why make doing quests essential to creating a well-rounded character? They should just be a bonus. Cash rewards are always good, as long as inflation doesn't get out of control.
