So as we've all probably noticed enemies have red hues or auras surrounding them whenever you look in their direction. This can ofcourse be useful. But in my opinion I think it just looks a bit messy.

For me it is unneccesairy to have such lighting hues surrounding my enemies body. It takes away the realism. Do your enemies light up bright red in a real life fight? No. Then why should enemies in TESO have ridiculous lighting hues around them? Like I said.. the more realism and the more "clear" and pure the gameplay is - the better.

What do you guys think?

Well there is two sides to the arguement. realism vs gameplay.

Personally id rather a circle surrounding ground of the target this helps realism gameplay and hitbox detection.

At its current state the hue is just way over the top

my vote goes too a circle surrounding ground around the target.

I personally like it, but I think the brightness should be adjustable or even turned off. I would personally use it but if given the option, I would turn it down a little

I thought you were all about difficult game play and screw the casuals?
having a little red circle to tell you how long you arms are is kinda stupid.

aside from that, Personally, I like what they are doing, but id love the option of altering the brightness of the hue.
Its a yes from me in hopes to get more adjustable settings.

I don't want hues full stop or at least the ability to get rid of them. I want to have that skill of being able to identify my enemy's not a red hue to do it for me. I want to identify that altmer or nord.

Useful for targeting, but extremely ugly.
Since it's just an opinion thing, if it were my game I wouldn't have done that. Definitely woulda gone for something more subtle.

You obviously have no clue what hit box detection is. this is a carebear mmo i have lost hope in it becoming a ground breaking AAA hardcore game. targetting circles/hue/any other form are common place in these type of mmorpgs and the targetting circle on the ground is the best type. Oh and ofc avidus if it were up to me there would be no target hue at all id rather it like skyrim but it wont be..understand this.

the lighting hue around the enemy is just another reason why the graphics for this game sucks,and the more that is shown the more i think the whole game is going to fail.what a dissapointment.

But this game has no circles, etc........so it doesn't have a targeting circle or stuff that would make it so easy. As for the glows, I find it is a simple way to minimalize the UI, so rather than having a big red line above his head or a marker for a quest giver it is a little smoother.
And question.....if you have lost hope for this game why are you still here?

@ferroc...i know this game doesnt have target ground circles Im saying that they are better than a outline hue on your target.

If i have my way ill be turning the hue off...i wont need it and it takes away the immersion for me.

I can agree with you on wanting it too be just like Skyrim, but it is jut no realistic.

Imagine playing an archer in 200v200 pvp combat, with spells flying everywhere, then try picking out the correct enemy.

@Avidus

Get an automatic target lock on when you press a hotkey? Just like WoW.

Even then, are you targeting what you want to, or are you targeting the nearest enemy.

There needs to be a way for people to tell who an enemy is, and who an ally is.
And I think circles are outdated and too common among MMO's.

Trolling??? I think your hat & bell & riddles under the bridge are failing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have never seen this red glowing outline around an enemy in any mmorpg, but I must admit that I like it. I am used to colored identifier bars above everyone's head and to be free of that clutter would make TESO very clean and nice to play.
I am used to all sorts of fire, lightning, spell chains and rooting, etc. once the fighting commences in mmorpg's ... both from myself & the combatants spell logs. So I am used to many lighted and superimposed effects appearing during combat and it increases the excitement and furor of the fight for me.
This red glow outlining the enemy's form makes them seem increasingly evil to me and would emphasize that I must do away with them for the good of my Queen and AD (in my Khajiiti case.) I like it because it would increase my fighting fervor in wiping them off the face of Tamriel at all cost.
You'd best get used to over-the-top combat effects if you've only played Skyrim; because mmorpg's are full of them. As Agent Mulder would say "We are not alone" in an online game like TESO. And as Avidus said "imagine being in a PVP of 200v200 with arrows & spells flying all around and trying to identify the correct enemies." This red glowing outline of the enemy is a subtle handling compared with what many mmorpg's dish out as identifying good from evil.
TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.
"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar
