Still the hue is over the top and not needed. a circle on the ground is the best option it doesnt impede immersion helps with strategy on larger creatures where raids require correct positioning and it helps with general hit box area. the hue atm is too far it is not needed. from the gameplay i seen it looks like hexen lol.

Like @CedarLilly and @Avidus have said, there needs to be some indicator as to which target you have selected. Even in a genre full of over the top effects and such, this game seems to show it still is dedicated to its initial statements, at least in this case, because yeah the outlines (which didn't seem too invasive if you ask me), they are much more subdued than any other. I concur to previous statements here, is what I'm trying to say

Since they will allow addons (lua .. somthin somthin) I bet there will be multiple of options that will satisfy every one... so i dont see the big deal about this...

What I personally think, every last one of you will agree with..

I want options, I want my 'settings' to be big enough to count as its own wiki.

Id expect red to be everywhere.

i was thinking a small circle on the ground, maybe when targeting the enemy the circle is there until you hit the enemy, so you know which enemy you are hitting after the circle disappears

From the latest Q&A

Will there be an option to turn off the glow around enemies?

Yes, you will be able to turn it off. I will say that the glow is much more apparent when you’re watching than it is when you’re playing. It’s very effective at helping with target selection, and you may find it useful in some situations, but it’s up to you whether to enable it.

@Avidus

Alright good, I believe that though still it is quite annoying.

Please read what I just posted, said by the dev's themselves, You can turn it off, so there is no glow at all.
Meaning its exactly like skyrim.

Plus I think it only glows on your selected target, so not every enemy will have red around them all the time. Least that is my impression.

I'm in agreement with Avidus, Ferroc and CedarLilly.
Good to know it's optional; but I have a feeling that
in Cyrodiil it might come in handy. Get into the middle
of a 100 player battle (zergfest?) and that's when things like
target assist and target of target become important.

I also am with Avidus; I would love to see an
options/control panel as comprehensive as LOTRO's.

I think its a good concept but they need to make it less visible like skyrims , and make it only light when fire hits it

your saying you want snow in morrowind? I dont get you
skyrim in ESO probably has a more "skyrimish" feeling but people aren't gonna play ESO to explore skyrim .

ITT: People complain about gameplay mechanics they haven't experienced yet.

I do hope they give us a slider though. The glow is necessary, imo, and you'll be at a tremendous disadvantage playing without it - especially when using a ranged build. I don't see the harm in letting people turn it down a bit though.
