I was curious to make two different guilds once the game comes out, but I'm not a huge mmo player (to date this is the first one, mostly because of the combat system, that has really appealed to me). So I was hoping at this point just meeting a few people with more experience on organization, as well as those maybe with more compute/website skills than me. Plus of course, just some otherwise like minded people. The first is a loose traders guild with three heads, representing crafting alchemy and general trade. For this one I was going to create an Orc smith and enchanter. The alchemist role would be potions and food. The general trade would be all those things I've not thought of or we don't know of yet. And by loose I mean general business would be decided by the three heads, while individual heads would have more influence over those beneath them in their specific discipline.
I've an overall plan here, but of course that may change depending on how the in game economy works. So I can give you details, but those might change as needed.
The second guild is a Breton only guild built around two basic ideas: on the one hand just a general membership level for the more casual pve players, Providing a nice social structure just to find other people for parties or people to help with quests, etc. also with a somewhat emphasis on hunting and alchemy. The second is built around pvp, using small teams with levels for the more casual and the more hardcore players. The only emphasis being on stealth with otherwise no class restrictions. The only thing I'm trying to stay away from is the stereotypical grouping of dps/healer/tank. Instead I'm more interested in small team synergy. Teams getting to know each other and build strategies using not just the available synergy abilities being built into the game, but combining talents and spells together and taking down enemies with stealth and power. So I guess you could say its more the dps leaning type with healing as a second skill for some that instead of relying on tanks relies on stealth, blocking, intel, and quick powerful Attacks to take down others. But other than stealth, it really is more an emphasis on letting people find their own skills and then learning to use those in conjunction with others rather than saying, you must be an archer or caster, etc.
But as I said, with both a bit more flexible. The first being more involved and the second being a mix of casual pve/ social and casual to hardcore pvp. Anyway, having a few other people would really be helpful to start. And the leadership is a bit more committee style with three leaders in the trade guild and (although the Breton clan/guild will have a central leader) a council that runs much of day to day business in the second, with a vote able to even overrule me/guild head. Part of the reason I wanted it this flexible is because I'm a grad student, and I know other people are going to be as busy as me some times. So spreading things out and trying to make a structure that fits for both the casual player and the more hardcore who want to take a more active role Will be more accommodating to that. If someone is away for a few days there are other people who can pick up the slack and everything doesn't all apart.
So let me know if you're interested in helping me with either one.
