Well we know that the loot will get better as you advance in the 50+ and 50++ areas but what about the loot in Cyrodiil? Will ZOS balance this out so that the guilds that only PvP have the equivalent drops?

I would really hate to find out that the loot would not equal the 50+ areas. It's difficult to say how they could balance this with such little information. What do you guys think? What are some ways they could balance the loot for PvP'ers and PvE'ers?

Loot from Cyrodil mainly comes from spending your hard earned Alliance points, in addition from crafting (we already know certain resources can only be found from Cyrodil).

And then there's the traditional PvE model. In my opinion the loot should be on equal level, and I don't want to see "gear tiers" or other forms forced PvE.

Ok so say you have enough alliance points to get your set of armor. How about the time frame it takes to complete the 50+ and the 50++. There is approx 120 hours of game play in each zone... So it could take you up too 360 hours to get the top tear gear. Where if you PvP it could be considerably less time to acquire your gear.

So the only thing I could see happening is that the alliance point gear could be very expensive to obtain. It's just a theory I'm throwing out there.

Maybe they will scale it so it takes a long time to get Cyrodiil gear too. Or maybe the 50++ gear will be better then then Cyrodiil gear. Or it will be equal and PvE-ers will do the 50+ and 50++ just for the PvE aspect. I'm not really worried about how it will end up working.

There also might be a tier system in pvp gear so that you can't get the best of the best right away.

Pure speculations at this point.
I just hope this MMO will be totally different gear wise than the Wow ladders of never ending upgrading gear that is a dead carrot we never can get.....I just loved getting the best gear and then see it nerfed the next day as you again have to be forced to get yet the next set of nerfable gear...that keeps you on the dead-tread mill of the lamest MMO from hell....Please I want MMO that I will never dislike because it
becomes like a job!

They've said that regardless of what avenue you take: Group PvE, Solo questing, PvP, you should be able to get equivalent gear, but who knows, I'm sure Paul Sage is trying to fuck that up to.

I'm sure you'll have to work equally hard in PvP to obtain gear equivalent to what you would get from, say raiding (or adventure zones) or 50++ content for example.

apart from pure fiction of time investment required, please mind that it was said there is different loot in PvP, different loot in PvE and different in crafting. Exclusive gear available from every source

As players hunt for specific items to match their build, the would probably need combinations of those sources, if not all of them. So "best way to obtain gear" is not a valid concern at the moment

Just a side note:

fun > (gear/minute)

tho most mmo players dont think that way and approach games as a job where they need to be successful at all costs

Well everybody is talking about where you are getting the gear, I dont know about you guys, but Im kinda leaning towards - It doesnt matter where you get it, but what you (crafting) do with it.

There is no difference in the purpose, all the gear is equally effecient for PvP and PvE. The stats on it are simmilar tho and there is no PvP exclusive stats as in other games

There are pieces of gear that can be acquired only in PvP, there are ones only available in dungeons and some exclusive to crafting

^this but I would also like to add that it has been said that the crafted items would be just as viable as loot drops, and you will probably need a mixture of both to be competitive. I personally like that they decided to go against pvp specific stats. It makes transitioning between the two very smooth while also taking out much of the "grind fest" needed to be competitive at both.

EDIT: Rage, just saw you tackled what I mentioned in an earlier post.

There will be many dungeons in Cyrodiil so those could hold bosses that drop rare gear and doing any pve killing could possibly drop anything. It was also said that crafter will be able to craft gear that is the same as the best dropped gear you could obtain.

Also this game seems to be following Darkage of Camelot's system where it is not endgame gear progression. the endgame progression is leveling up all the abilities you have AND achieving ranks in Cyrodiil and gaining perks to put in your AVA skill trees to gain more passive boost and learn more skills. there is the fight tree, seigemaster tree, an warlord tree. So if it does work like DAOC you will be bale keep building your characters for years after max level. IMO this works much better than a gear system because GEAR crafters will always be important as they can make the BEST gear
