I Don't know about anybody else, but It just occurred to me.

Will the loot that drops from a certain target be the same regardless of your characters level?

So if I am level 10, and I kite and kill a level 50 NPC, Will it drop loot I can use? or will it drop stuff for level 50s.

I can imagine that it will be the same as other MMO's in which that NPC will drop from its own loot table, But I think it would be nice for once, in an MMO to get something that I can use, and feel rewarded for taking the time to down a much stronger unit.

Thoughts?

First off you wont have to worry about armor and weapon lvls when they drop.

Second off what I believe the devs said is that the loot drops would be random and they will try to make it a little different for each player (based on their class and skills they use). I still believe this might be determined by what or who your fighting because you don't expect to fight a mage like char with robes on and then the loot is heavy armor and no robes right?

Remember loot is instanced, for one thing. So whatever loot you get if someone was to come up during a fight and help kill the monster they would receive loot (albeit different loot) in a drop as well. As far as could you possibly kill a monster way higher level than you and receive awesome loot from it? I kinda doubt it. I'm not sure but it isn't something I really think the devs think about much. You'll probably get a lot more XP from killing a higher difficulty monster but I think drops would be the same.

I would prefer to have an option in chat to see if someone in your party picks up something good though. How are you supposed to know that they got something they won't care about that you really want? Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of instanced loot to make sure everyone gets something good so that one guy doesn't get lucky and wins all the loot rolls. I just want something that lets me or other people in my group know that if I got something nice, I have no problem trading it for something else.

If you're lucky, have amazing skill and the fifty is having an off day maybe

Unlikely. If you are a level 10, in order to even get to a level 50 mob u would have to fight a butt load of mobs that vastly out level you. Also if the ai can even have "off days" the entire system would have to have an off day

I'm thinking pvp perspective. Sorry :p a level fifty monster definitely would be unkillable by a level 10

Not true, if you can kite something, you can kill it regardless of its level difference.

2 things, I do not feel that when you kill someone in PvP they should drop loot. For me that is a no-no, because the only loot I have is stuff I worked for.

And secondly I don't know of any MMO or RPG where a lvl 10 with lvl 10 armor can take down a lvl 50 NPC, let alone hit the darned thing.
