Magic in TESO? (Opinions?)

I always in elder scrolls play a sneaky guy who uses destruction, one handed, and light armor. Now just wanted to put this past more people, but I have heard quite a bit about TESO and we have seen a little combat and heard about weapons and armor not being restricted. What about magic? If every class has abilities but can also use weapons how do you think they are handling spells and magic schools in this game or will magic based classes simply only have 7 spells/abilities available at any time? Just curious what others think and what your reaction would be to certain actions if they took them. Personally I hope they make the ability spells unique and cool and have the more normal spells be like I don't know considered "Weapons" or something, but probably not.

We dont haw any good and solid info about this Topic. You cent cast magic without staff, at best, there are rumors, you will haw 1h "runes" that will allow you to cast some spells. There wont be Schools of magic, at least for now, i hope they change that.

Rune(Name or form might be different, but I can almost guarantee that there will be a 1h Magic weapon):Staff::Sword:Greatsword

Your magic is still restricted to your class and weapon, but a rune can be wielded in one hand. They also wouldn't give the same spells as a staff, because they're not the same weapon.

7 Spells? I don't need 7. Also i believe it is 6 spells.

Invisibility + Levitate + Fireballs from the sky.

Upon close observation about 0:37 to 0:40 the Khajiit to the far right looks to be wielding a two-handed axe but then uses magick with one hand. You see the same Khajiit again at 1:26ish throwing some sort of spear of light. You have to be quick to catch a glimpse. I'm guessing this links to his class.... Perhaps someone else could make sense of it.

I just hope they have non class based magic, but we will have to wait and see but thanks I see what your talking about. I think that is some kind of Templar ability maybe?

Pretty sure those are just abilities.

I'm sure fighter abilities will be a bit spell-like with the concept of classes being put into the mix. You can only have so many "Diagonal Power Swing"
"Spinning back power swing" before the fighter's abilities become generic. They'll have very spell-like abilities for every class I'd imagine.

Personally, I hate the class system to begin with, but I know it's kind of necessary for any MMO. As long as they don't have a dedicated healer class so I won't have to go "LFM need healer for dungeon" 50,000 times in chats I'll be fine. I just feel with a class system involved there isn't a way to make that the least prominent. It'll just end up being "Lf dragonknight" or whatever other class. People won't be asking for more 1-handed sword/1-handed rune casters, but just whatever the battle-mage type class will be. The idea behind classes, tmk, is to give people a starting out, but when a class is tied into a style of play then everyone migrates to that class and the game loses its variety of character types. So, While I can play dragon-knight and be a staff wielding mage, I'd probably suck and die in PvE or PvP situations. . ergo, making classes not so much a starting-out rather than something that just restricts player freedom of choice and makes less customization/uniqueness in general.
