Birthsign: The Antronach

Occupation: Lorekeeper, Enchanter.

Origin: Camlorn, but moved to Daggerfall days after birth.

Appearance: Slightly shorter than average, but not short short. Light brown skin colour. Eye colour : White with a hint of blue/green. Short, black hair.

Height: 5,8 feet

Goals: Master the arts of Destruction to aid his allies, Conjuration (Daedric Summoning) to control and banish evil, and Dark Magic for personal reasons.

Personality: He is very patient, but when he reaches a certain limit he gets furious. He's curious but cautious at the same time. Very reserved depending on the situation. He is struggling to cope with the aspects of his destiny, which is affecting his thought processes at times, even during battle.

Religion: He worships Akatosh, Arkay, Julianos and Magnus.

Best memory: Time spent as Alator's apprentice and, later on, researching with him.

Worst Memories: Being banished by his family, tricked by his friends and living on the streets and discovering that he was born evil (He was told such thing by a dark sorcerer he captured on a quest with Alator).

Story: At the young age of seven, in the city of Daggerfall, while Mordynak was at a festival with his parents; which was the first time they took him somewhere, even if they couldn't leave him behind; he saw a man playing with fire to entertain and earn money. He was generating fire from his hands. Mordynak observed his technique and just before leaving the man gave him a book teaching him of the basic ways of destruction. Later on at home, his mother came to see what he was reading and Mordynak explained that he was learning how to wield magicka and conjured a fireball. This made them very proud and they made an appointment with the mages guild to show them his ability. On the way to where they were to meet, he saw a group of mages in purple robes, one of them was concentrating his magicka into a purple sphere. But before he could see the purpose of such energy, his mother pulled him away. Once there, the mages asked him to demonstrate what he knew. He was going to conjure a ball of fire but he couldn't stop thinking of the cloaked people.

He finally let out a sphere of purple energy that converted into some species of wolf. Although it didn't last long, the mages guild and his parents were disgusted, believing he was a demon sent from Oblivion, leaving him to live in the streets. At this time, Conjuration was treated as bad as Necromancy and, therefore, he was banished.

A few days had past, Mordynak's birthday was in a week. The only company he had was the conjured wolf that sat beside him every now and then, when he had the magicka to conjure him. He didn't starve completely, as the citizens of the village he had fled to, nearby Daggerfall, tossed him bread every few hours. He would practice his new learnt spells day and night until perfecting the 'conjure familiar' spell and enabling the ability to disperse flames from the palm of his hand.

After a few days of hunger and loneliness, one night he saw a man in purple robes. He reminded Mordynak of the mysterious people that cost him his lifestyle. He felt the same aura as he passed and, without realising it, Mordynak conjured a familiar by just thinking about it.

This caught the man's attention. As he turned around, Mordynak was able to spot out some facial details. He was slightly tanned but still light-skinned, he had blue eyes and a stubby nose. He smiled at Mordynak before saying:

"That's quite the talent you've got there, young one."

"Most people don't seem to think the same..." Mordynak replied with sorrow.

"Well, it just happens to be that I know people that would be more than delighted to observe such an ability from someone as young as you." He took a look at Mordynak and then continued "You must be hungry, all alone on the streets like that. Why don't you come with me so I can introduce you to the family and get something to eat?" There was something about the old man that created a kind aura around him.

Mordynak wasn't sure about following this man, but he was too hungry and tired to think, so he just followed.

Once there, he was introduced to the others and he showed of his ability.

"Ah, so he's interested in the art of daedric summoning?" One of them said.

"Daedric summoning?" Mordynak was perplexed. He'd never heard of this school of magic. "I've only heard of five schools of magic: Destruction, the art of the elements; Illusion, the art of the mind; Restoration, the art of healing; Alteration and Mysticism, the art of change and myth; and Conjurati-"

"Conjuration!" Another one of the cloaked ones bellowed "The art of summoning! An interesting art, I must say. It's split into two branches, one of the two being Daedric summoning!"

"So, you all study conjuration?" Mordynak was suddenly interested in their words and not so much in the food he was munching down.

"Oh, yes. But before we start training you in the art of summoning, we should first introduce ourselves. My name is Bedyn Copperton, this is Edward, Uthore and Theodore." He said pointing at each one of them.

"Your going to train me?" Mordynak was so excited he jumped up and let his food drop.

"Of course! You didn't think that we'd let a young talent like you die away did you? Seven years of training should do the trick. So, what is your name?"

"My name is Mordynak."

And with that followed seven years of training in which he learnt how to summon atronach, bound weapons and a few basic destruction spells. Once he turned fifteen, he was told by Bedyn to meet them at the nearby pillars.

"What have you brought me here for this time, my friends?" Mordynak asked with a humorous tone. He was now mature.

"We've brought you here for a test. You've lived with us for seven years now and it's time you become one of us by completing our initiation test."

"I'm ready for anything!" Mordynak quoted.

"Bring him in then, Theodore!" He shouted as the cloaked man brought in a corpse. "We want you to bring him back to life for a temporary time."

"What!?!" Mordynak was confused "B-but why would you want to do that? The dead shouldn't be disturbed. It just isn't right to tamper with the souls of the dead!"

"If you don't do it, you'll never be a part of us. Necromancy is the second branch of conjuration!"

"Well I don't want to be a part of this group of necromancers!" Mordynak said with sorrow. How could he not have known after so many years?

"Well, that's a shame because you know where we live and necromancy isn't very welcome around these parts."

"What are you going to do to me?" Mordynak was starting to panic.

"Us? Nothing. This guy here?" he stated pointing at the corpse "A lot."

He then reanimated the life-force of the corpse who then raised his axe and chased after Mordynak. Mordynak conjured a familiar to distract it and then ran as far as he could, but only to find himself surrounded by the necromancers. He launched a lightning bolt at one and, not expecting it, disintegrated his arm on the spot. One of them sent a fireball at Mordynak and knocked him over. They then poured oil in a circle around Mordynak and set it on fire. All he could hear were their laughs, so he put his head in his hands and started crying, wishing it wouldn't end this way. He stopped crying as he heard their laughs turn into cries of agony. Growls, ripping and tearing could be heard from the inside and, suddenly, it all stopped. He focussed his magicka on putting out the flames, only to see the necromancers' dead bodies and conjured familiars feeding from them. He couldn't believe what he saw, did he summon all of them? But before he could process what had happened, they disappeared with a quick whine.

After that day, once again, he spent the next few weeks on the streets, hunting with the help of his familiar and bound bow for food.

One day he sat at the stairs of a castle hidden in the mountains close to Daggerfall, playing with a fireball, throwing it from one hand to another. The door opened behind him.

"Well, hello there" Said a man in blue robes. "And what is a young fellow like you doing sitting all alone on my stairway?"

"I-I'm s-sorry sir, I didn't know-"Mordynak didn't know how to explain himself but stopped worrying when he saw the kindness that the man's smile emitted.

"There's nothing to worry about. My name is Alator! And you are?"

"I'm Mordynak. Mordynak Ashwing." He still had trust issues but this man was different.

"I saw how you were playing with fire there. Quite the concentration and ability you wield there. Would you be interested in becoming my apprentice? I've got plenty of knowledge to share with the world." And with a simple smile followed almost a hundred years of research and partnership.

During the next twenty years after his 100 year training with Alator, he embarked on many adventures, of which some were more than memorable, like the time he shipwrecked ( see Anchor Forge RP ), when he helped an old friend escape from the Dark Brotherhood ( Vorago ), etc.

Today, he is the Lorekeeper of The Council of Arcanea and fights for his friends, the Covenant, and for Nirn; and researches and embarks on adventures to gain knowledge, share it, and have a great time. He's also gained a great interest in Dark Magic after defeating Arathar, an old friend of Alator. For the life of his friends are more valuable to him than his own.

DUDE 6 ft 3 is tall as hell if you want him to be "Short" is he descended from giants lol anyways nice little bio glad to have you on board with the guild. A suggestion though maybe as well as Alator look into characters who prolonged their life with magic maybe find out some minimal info so you can flesh out the idea of how and what it took. =)

The Telvanni uses Necromancy to do it, Alator and Mordynak uses restoration ^^

Just saying you might want to find a citation of that occurring just to keep with lore. Cause It makes sense for that to work with necromancy preserving essentially what should be dead as living where as restoration can only fix what already is living therefore if you should be dead it brings into question restoration should in fact damage you just look at what it does to undead...though I guess in skyrim they changed that by making undead healing restoration anyways just an idea.

Lol I lost myself halfway in that text XD so confusing for me. Since restoration is the school of manipulation of Life forces, wouldnt you be able to manipulate Life itself? Thats what Alator did ;)

In a way yes, but see my point was they use necromancy to prolong life because in truth they are already dead. If they used restoration it would do nothing except harm them because you can only heal something that is suppose to be alive. I know thats a bit odd but it is to say that if you heal a dying man he lives if you heal an undead one he dies. Any ways skryim kind of dissed on that idea with making healing zombies a restoration spell so nevermind lol. I was just trying to say traditionally immortality is dark magic cause you are using something to probably rob life force of something else to feed it to yourself where as restoration is giving life force to somethign that has lost it in fact I would think restoration could even slowly but surely kill you because you may even be giving up some of your life in the process.

I think MaxxRocker has a point, but so does Alator. If Arkay is the Divine of life and death and hates Necromancy for bending his ways, and his followers specialize in restoration, then using restoration to bend his ways might be a bit contradictory, unless they, as Alator said, use fire against fire and bend the ways of death to defeat necromancers, then maybe restoration would work. And, if I'm not mistaken, In Skyrim (the game) when you enter the mages school, before becoming archmage, Toldfir said something about it. I think he said something similar to this:

"Magic will be very useful throughout your life, or many lives if your talented" Well something of the sorts anyway, and I don't think he was talking about necromancy, if not restoration, or even maybe Alteration, to alter your life-force. I don't know though, we'll have to search it up later ;)

Yea that is exactly right he did have a quote just like that. =) Yea as I even put it its a bit screwy and contradictory for example again you have a restoration spell that heals undead. So in short it could just be a dark form of restoration essentially lol as messed up as that sounds. Anyways that is a very awesome quote I really liked the college of winterhold. It could also just be if you look at some magic just prolongs life due to being in unison with the world so it could just be a communion with existence though that starts to sound strange and go on the debate of how in tune you are lol. In short when people talk about it I just get interested cause the prolonging life thing is something that has been done in the games rather frequently, but there is no one answer which is awesome just like how all the stories, magic, and really everything in the game has multiple sides which makes different interpretations many times all a little right. Anyways just thought I would bring it up good luck with it!
