Hey guys and gals. Here's a new "Ask Us Anything" article that covers many questions I had about RvR in Cyrodiil, among other things. Some good topic fodder I think. Just wanted to bring it to your attention.

These to are interesting

Quote:It has been mentioned multiple times that players can invade areas surrounding enemy keeps in order to starve them of resources. What kinds of resources are these, and how will they affect gameplay? – By Eric Duey

The three resources around a keep (lumber mills, farms, and mines) fuel its upgrade process. Lumber mills help make keep doors stronger and allow them to repair themselves automatically. Farms make keep guards tougher and stronger, and mines help reinforce the walls, making them harder to destroy and allowing them to repair themselves over time as well. Taking control of resources around keeps also shuts off various patrols in the vicinity, so it’s always advantageous to take resources before laying siege to the keep itself.
I like the approach to this. I curious about the defenses of these camps. Will they be easy to take or will they have firm defenses/guards. Also will they have some small wooden walls/gates surrounding them or will they be open camps.

Quote:How are siege weapons constructed? Do you need special resources? Are siege weapons mobile or stationary? – By Eric Aholou

Siege weapons can be obtained and constructed by anyone that has the Alliance Points to purchase them. You won’t need any other resources to buy them and deploy them all on your own. As for mobility: rams are mobile, and ballistae, catapults, and trebuchets can be packed up after they’re deployed so that they can be repositioned.

One thing I would like to know is how long does it take to deploy siege. Is it instant or is it like a 5-10 sec cast. The mobile siege things is kinda cool but I doubt people will be wheeling around siege since you coud just place a new one. Also I would like to know if i can place siege on the walls of a keep. Can I place a trebuchet on a keep wall to counter enemy siege.

claiming a keep for your guild is just for guild pride from what we've heard and if your guild keep is under attack you'll be notified. I believe that are going to implement something where your guilds banner is displayed similar to gw2.

I really hope people take advantage of the fact that siege weapons are semi-mobile. Adds to to battle. Like one part of a keep is too well defended or maybe you know you are losing and getting pushed back, so you pack u the weapon and move it somewhere safe, or more tactically beneficial.

The ram (being mobile) sounds sweet. In my head I can't help thinking of LoTR: The Return of the King film with the Flaming Wolf Head ram smashing the front gate to splinters... Hope there's even a slight chance ESO will have some epic combat scenarios that naturally occur. I'd be a happy guy.

quite disappointing.

They talk about a PvP skill line, as in singular. Means the 3 lines didnt make it tru, thats new and even more disappointing

i wouldnt read too much into that. u nless you have some info that im lacking.

Afaik by the time of the last update they still claimed that there will be 3 different ways to go so they might just have said it in singular so people dont get confused.

at least i hope thats how it is.

Those 3 skill lines previously mentioned were a Combat, Leadership, and Siege skill lines, correct? And the singular skill line is a possible Alliance points specific skill line? Or are Alliance points only for ranking (titles) in PvP and for the purchasing of armor, weapons, etc?
