Every faction has obviously 5 larger cities, including the capitol. I hope they will be atleast as large as Oblivion cities. With Skyrim I always had the problem that the cities were too small and underpopulated, even if the looked nice. Windhelm for example was the greatest disappointment, considering that the ash quarter was just a street. But In TESO times we will see the Dunmer-free Snow quarter ;)

MaxxRocker, I think they've told us that the Cyrodiil area in TESO is 9X the size of Cyrodiil in Oblivion .. don't know if they mean the playable part or the whole of Cyrodiil. But that gives you the idea that this game area is pretty large and you see the comparison of the 3 faction areas in relation.

One thing that strikes me about this map is that the correct allocation for Morrowind, Vvardenfell in relation to Cyrodiil is shown, which in another map thread somebody was worried about. Another is that on this map, Ebonhart Pact clearly does NOT have a touching border with Cyrodiil, as some folk supposed which would have given EP an advantage in getting to Cyrod.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

Not Set
Is it even official?

Looking at the areas accessible at launch, I really hope the TESO Tamriel is in much bigger scale than Singleplayer games, otherwise it looks like there's too little to explore.

Also, looking at the map, I see Falinesti is marked as major city. Hopefully they manage to capture the look and feel of the city as it was portrayed in Dance In Fire. A mile high moving tree that has entire city on its branches is quite a challenge to design. One thing am concerned about, though, where is Firsthold? It should be on the northern edge of smaller Summerset island, yet it's not shown there. Does it mean it's locked from us, or they "retconned it away" from game?

In general, the explorable area looks smaller than I expected.

Cedar Lilly, there is no way that is 9x the size of Cyrodiil in Oblivion. Jusst look at it: They've cut out Bravil, Bruma, Anvil, Kvatch, and Leyawiin.

Also, NO FAIR, I WANTED SKINGRAD! >:(

Also also, this map made me notice how close the size of the island the Imperial city is on is to that of Solstheim.

I think most players would however the map doesn't show the summerset isles, belonging to any faction perhaps this could be DLC for later on the same as the majority of Skyrim is unclaimed' however there are borders of both the DC and EP nearby this may mean that it may be a DLC later on the same for Black Marsh.

Also Elswyer is not controlled by any one it seems.

To clear it up, Cyrodiil is 9x the size of a regular zone in any part of the game. Comparing this Cyrodiil to Oblivion's, this Cyrodiil is just a little bigger I think it has been said.

The Summerset Isles have become a much more dangerous place.

Do you have a source for this? I've heard this as well as it being 10x larger, but after searching for it for the past 20 minutes I can't find anything to clarify this. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a 50-60sq mile Cyrodiil & a 200sq mile Tamriel map, but unless it's set in stone this is true somewhere I see no reason to believe it.

Honestly, world size isn't an issue I'm worried about. I'm worried about the traveling system. The method of travel has ways of making a world feel excessively smaller than it actually is. That is, in Oblivion & Skyrim's case where you just teleport to the closest place to your destination. Some may argue Oblivion felt small because of the loads of empty space, but in all honesty any game that I can click a button and teleport to the other side of the map is going to feel smaller than it actually is. WoW had it right in Vanilla. I have no idea how it is nowadays because they blew that game with expansions, but having to actually go through a 1 or 2 minute flight seeing the world around you is exactly how it ought to be done. It makes travel quicker while still maintaining the feel of the world being large. & Don't say TESO can't do something like this just because there aren't tamed flying beasts - they could think of something like siltstriders, boats, horses, carriages, etc.

So, that's my opinion on the size of the map. It's not about how big it is, but how fast you get across it. From most sites I've looked up the game is going to be roughly the size of WoW, so around 80-100mi^2, but on others they say it'll be way bigger so I have no idea. Guessing the size of the world though isn't much to go by, however. There is no solid sources anybody is giving on the claims they make on any site I can find or here so I don't see why this should be a discussion.

In the end, sure, large world sizes make traveling on the ground make the world seem huge and wonderful. However, when you jump in a portal that takes you somewhere instantly, or if you can just open your map and click a place to instantly travel to it to be closer to your destination; it's going to feel small very quickly.

Perhaps or maybe the elves have completely closed their borders no gets in or out sort of deal or possibly as you said they become more dangerous maybe due to spies infiltrating the isles? For instance.

This isn't an official map, so there's no use talking about it in terms of gameplay stuff. It is, however, a nice piece of art.

Hahah, no offense, but I didn't understand that.
I think they're more dangerous because everyone says they're dangerous in every single game. The illusion of danger can sometimes cause danger itself to manifest. Winking_grinning
