Nights In Fort Bliss Discussion Thread

This is an RP for guild members of the EP guild Vlos Hithern first and foremost. Secondly it is going to be a rather hardcore role play with a lot of puzzle solving and reliance on intelligent game play/ teamwork of the players.

The rules are as follows:

1. You must state when you eat, drink, or sleep and if you do not it must be taken into consideration for how your character is holding up I will be keeping track of this. You must do all of these at least once a day to be at your peak condition.

2. You must plan actions and try to stay in how your character would feel or address this situation. You are in unfamiliar place it is dark cold it is a very dangerous yet disturbingly quiet place so take your characters emotional status and sanity into account.

3. This is a test of each characters skill sets and the backpacks are suited to each of you therefore you have a specific set of skills and items. For armor and weapons you will have minimal gear and by this I mean you will only have what you typically wear on an adventure or mission and no more no replacements no extras just what you have now is what you got.

4. Do not state you have found any items of great power or usefulness I have things planned for that and they will be let out as you properly find and or stumble upon them. You can find items up to dwarvish and orchish quality, but as of now no further and only minimal enchanted items primarily jewelry for any enchanted items. These will most likely be small things and you can come up with a few to find, but please keep them minor to moderate in level of power for there will be stuff for each of you at some point that will be useful and potent.

5. Combat will be turned based so everyone will get one turn to attack and do something before anyone gets a second go. Now do remember it is not always good to rush you may even want to wait for a monster and or enemy to attack first so that you can hit them when they are weak and do remember they will be doing the same to you.
Combat will be hard to nail down at first because of variables like surprise attacks and other things so as long as it remains fair and fluid I really may let up on some of the more turn based or single post based rules. The main idea would be first attack reaction of victim then cycle through the rest of the group before getting back to those initial two who started it. If I use groups of enemies that are intelligent they may even attack in groups and I have no problem with you all doing the same if you want to coordinate and plan attacks then each make a post of your contribution to the effort and so on. Again this is all about planning immersion and generally fun and fluid fighting.

6. You are allowed to create small mobs and or obstacles such as a few enemies, but keep it to a minimum as I will be primarily acting as more typical DM figure essentially playing against you guys.

7. Magic users for now there will not be restrictions on spells, but keep in mind using a lot of spells can exhaust you and sever your magic ties for some time. Stick to the schools your character knows and only use spells from those schools and please state them for me in the area below.

8. Searching is essential to your survival in this game so remember that you need to be aware of your surroundings and search the areas check buildings and explore. Also remember that this may also be essential for finding food because the amount you have is only enough for one meal a day for three days same goes for water. This is most likely not enough to sustain any of you comfortably.

9. Have fun and remember to be fair.


Now I need each of you to give a list of skills and what would be useful to your characters. Each of you have three vigorous potions of your choice. Otherwise if any of you are good thiefs you may have lockpicks and so on. This will be decided once you guys give me a list of your armor, weapons, and skill sets.


Armor and weapons are going to be your typical gear for adventuring. The backpack will be filled with a number of items other than the 3 days of food and water that have already been stated that will suit your skills so now just tell me your skills and we will move from there.

This thread is for you to discuss out of character what you plan on doing and all such things or ask questions if something is unclear.

Conversations can be carried on in character as much as you like, but do try to remember that if the pages get to crowded it may be hard for people to catch up. On that note if you are going to be unable to post let me know and perhaps state what your character would do such as following the group.

I know this is a whole lot and may be rather strict in some aspects, but this will be somewhat slow paced very thoughtful more dungeon crawl type game that will test your characters and hopefully you as players.

This is a hard game with a high risk reward so good luck.

Cool read his update very nice so basically close quarters stealth guy. Any extra skills like lock picking or trade skills? I am primarily asking cause again the bags are catered to each of you so they are going to be stuffed with what your characters can make work. Also on a side note I really like the new picture on Do'Shanji's bio.
Btw if your character previously has magical armor or items I will allow them as long as you tell me exactly what they do and they are reasonable.
Everyone else just post basically do this

Bill the warrior wears steel plate on adventures and carries a steel shield with a steel sword
Bill was always good at fixing weapons up and patching armor (He will have items suited to this)

Just do something like that.

oh yeah I added lockpicking, but as for trade skills, he learned none while he was a slave.

And yeah the picture suits him really well I think. It came from a magic card that my friend has since I couldn't even come close to that level of awesome.

Perception (Its a Fallout skill and they are made by the same people) so speech i guess would go with this I dont know.
Alteration kinda sorta. He is smart and likes using this school though he isnt the best at it.

Sounds good alright all I need now is for you each to add your three potions and what they are to your description post. I would like to point out that no character thus far has any trade skills this is not a complaint, but this will make things harder for you guys as you have no one who can repair armor make potions or any of that. I thought solduirian did two handed and did magic he did in the cave at least or is he just really really smart? Sorry just curious.

Well in response to that, Solduiran does do those things. He can be Two-handed, Alteration, Smithing. He can also talk well but I feel like adding a fourth skill would be like super OP.
