So an important part of the last couple of ES games was the existence of an organization of Akaviri origins known as The Blades. And earlier today I realized that ESO takes place before, or during the Akaviri Invasion of the North-East portion of Tamriel. What this means? I'll tell you it means we probably won't be seeing them. And even if we do they will be hostile jerks like the Thalmor, as they haven't found good'ol Tiber Septim, A.k.A. Talos.

For any of you who don't know the significance of them finding Septim, it led to them becoming his loyal bodyguards due to the fact that the Dragon Blood flowed in his veins. And they were called The Blades given this name because of their awesome Akaviri Katanas.

Of course, my knowledge of lore could be grossly inaccurate so if I am wrong, which I hope I am leave a post and inform me.

I'm more curious to see as to what the Akaviri actually look like, rather than seeing the Blades again.

I believe they were looking for Reman Cyrodiil not Talos. So we might well see them in an expansion :)

The blades suck anyway. They do a poor job imo.

OHYEAH! We have that to look forwards to, interesting. Hopefully Zenimax'll avoid being half-arsed about their approach and actually stick to existing lore. As opposed to the whole Alinor incident.

We may have to complete a quest that has to do with the Akaviri! That would be pretty interesting!

Blades are overrated tbh. The last member of that order I had any respect for was Caius Cosades.

Caius? Bah. He was pretty decent, but give me Lady Brisienna Magnessen over him any day of the week. At least she tried to do some of the work herself. ;)

The Dragonguard would definitely be nice to see, but I wouldn't be too bothered by them not showing up yet - maybe if there's an expansion/whatever focused on the Akaviri or (preferably not, but it's pretty much inevitable) the remaining dragons flying around at that time. I can be patient. :)

Count only the happy hours.

I think I remember reading a question like this on the official site. The Blades organization was not around at this time, but there are the people who would eventually form it. I think with the empire in turmoil it wouldn't really make sense to have them in there anyways.

Yeah ! You're right! They talked about that in the "Ask us anything Variety pack 2". Here is the original text Winking_grinning:

The Blades have been a central part of the character's main storyline in Elder Scrolls games. To what extent, if any, will The Blades be involved in ESO? – By Christian McAllen

At the time of ESO, remnants of the Akaviri Dragonguard who protected the Emperors are still around, but they have not yet re-formed into the secretive Blades of later eras.

Lady Brisenna? she bareley did anything.
Speaking of Caius that no good skooma head, its not like any of the blades were ever worth fuck.
