I do switch it up a lot. I can immensely enjoy dawdling about on my own, yet I love to play with a select group of good friends who I know well, both as a person and their way of playing. My GW2 guild was pretty big at one point, yet we tended to take the same five people to explorables, especially when it was the first time we did it. We ended up knowing the rest of the team really well and knew exactly what to do in whatever "oh shit"-situation that was flung our way. I really like playing with good friends for that reason, plus there's a thrill about beating a challenge with your good buddies.

I'm in the exact same situation, so I'm probably going to go for small group of friends :D

I am sad to say that i haw to go with option "I tend to switch it up quite a lot", because it depends on my mood, some times i just cent stand other people for no apparent reason, or when i am solo i want to explore and search for lore, which is hard to do when you are in a group. But most of the time i do enjoy to play with friends in small and large groups.

Well, the only MMO I ever really got into at all was WoW. I only had Starter Edition, so it was soloing, dungeons with random people, and PvP with random people.

For TESO, I'll probably solo most of the time, but I'll PvP every now and then. I need to support the Dominion, after all!

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

It actually depends on the situation, but overall, I don't like to feel the need of depending on other people.

Still, the best way to go is to be adaptive/dynamic and therefore switch everything up once in a while :)

I switch it up a lot in all games .. some games I solo in & play exclusively with my hubby .. like SWG, LOTRO, DAoC, . Others I enjoyed being a cog in a guild or large group ... particularly Shadowbane where I was a Centaur Healer (groups always want healers.) Small groups are nice ... in Project Entropia we had a small tight-knit group of fighters. In Everquest II I love to do it all ... solo ... pair with hubby ... raid with my guilds ... I particularly love the small but fierce group hunts of Va Khaj Dar Retreat Caravan = like a roaming lion pride we are - devastating the countryside of creatures as we roam & rollick.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

I mostly play solo. It is only when doing dungeons, raiding or pvp that I play with groups.

I like to switch it up. Exploring and random questing is mostly done solo or with a friend or two, but I love grouping up with some friends to do some dungeons or pvp. And I love large scale pvp battles so I'll definetly be grouping up with raids for pvp.

I always did everything solo, but I am planning on doing both solo play and playing with a small group of friends in TESO. And if I do end up in a larger guild, (I am thinking about that) I would probably still do some more sidetasks that involve solo play or smaller groups. Stealth, ambushing etc doesn't really work in larger groups :p
And maybe I will end up being more of a crafter/builder anyway. Who knows :)

Switchin' it up.

I love solo, I love low man and I like big groups. What it comes down to for me is efficiency~

Although I mostly end up playing solo, and I do enjoy the chaos and strength of large group play... ideally I prefer to play in small groups with friends who share a similar play style as me. I like that idea of a tight-knit group where you're familiar with your fellow company and you're able to achieve an enjoyable session of gaming.

Generally with large groups, you aren't as acquainted with everyone. And when you play solo, there isn't anyone to be impressed when you do something amazing. Tongue_out

Unfortunately, most of the time, my MMO friends don't share similar interests as me, or our available gaming times are different. Sick

I've played solo mostly in MMOs but I've always loved the feeling of having friends by your side as I fight. And a big group destroying everything in their path sounds fun too, but I definitely prefer small groups of friends.

For some of my previous MMOs, I usually played solo. Though this may change with the release of ESO because I will probably be PvPing most of the time.
