Possible Mannimarco Battle

This is entirely speculation and I could be completely wrong about this. Please correct me if any of my information is wrong.

Everybody knows that Mannimarco is one of the primary villains in ESO by acting as Molag Bal's primary agents. By looking at Mannimarco's lore, we see that he was sent away from the Artaem for some unknown reason before the events of ESO. During this time he gathered up followers and became a lich. Many of us also know that Mannimarco had an enemy Vanus Galerion, the founder of the Mages Guild. At an unknown date, Galerion had raised an army of battle mages to fight Mannimarco and his necromancers. Galerion died during the battle, but the necromancers lost and Mannimarco was presumed dead.

My speculation is that the Main Storyline of ESO will contain this battle. The player will meet/befriend Galerion and will have some role in the battle. I have two speculations for how the battle will partake.

1. The player, Galerion, and most likely other people have found out how to get to Coldharbour. They need to do this to defeat Molag Bal. However, the way to get there is in possession of Mannimarco. Galerion then gathers up battle mages from The Order Of The Lamp to meet Mannimarco on the field of battle in hopes of gaining whatever it is that gives passage to Coldharbour.

2. This way is kind of like the battle in Bruma in Oblivion. The group can already go to Coldharbour but Mannimarco/Molag Bal is already attacking. Galerion gathers an army of battle mages to hold back the army. This buys time for the player to go to Coldharbour and defeat Molag Bal.

What do you think? Do you think the Main Storyline will contain this battle? Is there other scenarios that I didn't think of?

Off the top of my head, I certainly can't think of anything wrong with this theory.

Seems like a plausible theory! I'd imagine at one point, the players themselves will face off against Mannimarco but that could be another battle entirely. It's possible they'll have a scenario where you participate in that particular battle alongside Galerion, but we'll see.

Have a theory where the battle with Mannimarco might occur? It seems the Imperial City would be the likely place, however those who are PvE oriented often don't like bosses being dependent on PvP if there's some reason you must hold the city first before doing the encounter. Either that or he has some crazy tower, fortress, or dungeon around somewhere.

On another note, the official website calls Mannimarco the Prince of Worms rather than King of Worms. I wonder what's the criteria to classify an evil lich necromancer a prince or a king. Tongue_out

I see the battle with Manimarco taking place deep in the earth. Just something about a deep dark cave and the king of worms sits right in my mind. I really hope this theory is correct, I would love to battle alongside Galerion during his epic final moments.

Here's a timeline of the second era for you: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/second-era

Of particular note is:

Quote: 2E 578

Molag Bal starts to draw Nirn into his realm of Cold Harbour. Dark Anchors, similar to Oblivion Gates, begin to appear across Tamriel. The Imperial City is secretly ruled by Bal's followers, and Mannimarco, his lieutenant, controls the Arcane University through his Worm Cult.

"An arcane explosion in the Imperial City set off aftershocks in every corner of Nirn. Mages died or went mad. Disasters and freakish weather lashed every province of Tamriel. Red Mountain flared and trembled in Morrowind, earthquakes shook Skyrim, and massive storms devastated the coastlines of Elsweyr and Valenwood. The constellation of the Serpent reappeared in the skies and grew so large that it seemed to threaten every star sign at once."

Quote:2E 854

The Emperor Cuhlecain (later is known as Emperor Zero) of Cyrodiil is assassinated by a High Rock nightblade. General Talos takes the throne of the Empire and adopts a Cyrodiilic name, Tiber Septim. He starts his conquest to unite all Tamriel under the Cyrodiil Empire.

Well, the first known date about Galerion is 2E 230, when he founded the mages guild to confront Mannimarco, as the Psijics said nah. The great battle was atleast after this Event. TESOF is located 2E 580, so 350 years after the founding of the mage guild.

I´d like to think bargain with Molag Bal is Mannimarco´s second try to Claim power. The "Great Battle" I think to have happened on Arteum, as a pure Altmer vs Altmer conflict.

On the other hand, Galerion seems to be alive in TESO as the "Nameless Mage" , who now has such a terrible DnD Name Generator Name, was sent to Cold Harbour by Galerion himself. But Galerion has never again been mentioned by Zenimax.

I hope the "Great Battle" is already done, Galerion dead and Mannimarco, as we face him in TESO, a lich. Unrotten, of course, as he is in Oblivion unrotten, too. But that... could be an Oblivion mistake. Like Cyrodiil Jungle... but enough of that ;)

Who controls the Septim crown?
Who keeps the Allesian Heresy down?
We do, we do

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?
Who keeps the Dwemer under wraps?
We do, we do

Well that could be possible but everyone thought Mannimarco was dead after the battle as well. He never resurfaced until the oblivion crisis.
