So if someone could explain this. I would be happy.

In us dollars standard is 60 and imperial is 80.
In gb pounds standard is 50 and imperial is 70.
Conversion is usd 60 to gbp 35 and usd 80 gbp 50 (rounded up)

Most games that cost 60 usd would cost 40 gbp. Why is this different?

I've also heard that aus people are ordering from usa due to their price difference being even more unreasonable. Also using proxy networks to order digitally.

What prevents me from doing that?

Yeah I live in New Zealand and I got charged Euros...wtf? I'll be playing on the US server (obviously will be closer to me than Europe), so why would Oceanics get charged in Euros, ever (unless it was a price gouge or some lazy ass tool not bothering to care where we are located, either one sounds about right). Apparently my sub will be in friggin' Euros too. Not happy about this at all. It's no biggie financially, it's just I don't see why I'm getting charged in this currency.

I bought online and paid in AUD, and I didn't pay anything extra, it worked out fairly even.
Imagine if euro's dropped in value significantly and people were paying 35, which for would then have a tiny value compared to what it used to be, then they would be significant undercharging people.

Any time anything sells in several currencies you are bound to get some sort of variance.
I brand new Xbox game is between $80-$100, pretty sure its cheaper in most other countries around the world, but then their currencies are also worth more.

I just spoke to support and they said it was some weird mistake getting charged in Euros, I should've been charged in NZ dollars. Going to get them to look into this for me, don't want my sub in Euros as well.

If there is a mistake in the system, fair enough. If they're miscalculating deliberately for profit then that's quite naughty. They're selling to a global market and the price should be exactly the same for everyone.

If the US price for the Imperial digital is $80 the UK price should be £49 and in Euro's it should be just over €59. This is pretty bad IMO.

I'm buying a hard copy from the UK for £35 which is more reasonable and more inline with a global market price and what the US players are paying, £35 is $57.

With the price-conversion I ended upp paying the equivalent of $108 for the Imperial edition.

Wow. That's just not fair. I ended up picking up a 25% discount over the weekend and got one for a friend to. I know this is also quite the issue with steam.

Australia's, as usual, price is higher after the conversion. Due to Australia's horrific price scam and the fact that it sold out before I had a chance to buy it, I had to purchase it in the US. I think I bought it for $100 (RIE) in the US and that is $112 AUD. But it was offered for $120... well I was going somewhere with that but I suppose it isnt to bad.

I am from NZ too and was shocked when they tried to charge me in Euros. I have not bought the game yet though and their website is still trying to charge me Euros.

Financially its not a big deal but its just the stupidity of trying to charge me a completely unrelated currency that is used on the other side of the world. It also concerns me that I might have to pay sub in Euros.

Charging me USD would be fine and its what I would expect for a game developed in the US, hell even AUS dollars would be more appropriate.

Just totally bizzare :/

You do realise that the European prices actually include 20-24% VAT? (depending the country for UK is 20%)

Amazon UK has the game at £39.99, while with today's exchange rate of $60 = £36.79+20% VAT= £44.15

Which makes it actually at £39.99 cheaper than the US price. And you can get the boxed edition for around £35.99 if you shop around.

You forgot to remove the American VAT for that calculation. Unless they add that at the end like they do in their stores?

*sigh* I don't know why companies insist on charging me EU prices that include VAT and straight conversion to SEK, that also include our 25% VAT, so my prices are product + 17.5% (EU VAT) + 25% (SWE VAT), better would be to take product US price, convert to SEK + 25% VAT.

Oh wow. That sucks hard! Isn't there a way you can remove the initial vat?
