We have all had to do that dreaded gear grind regardless of what gaming background you come from or what RPGs you've played, i am making this thread to bring something to light, i am wandering whether or not TESO will be giving players the options of different equipment sets, for example PvE and PvP gear.

I myself hate the fact you have to have two different equipment sets, the grinding for points can be tedious and very time consuming, although when you do get a full arena conquest set you do feel like you've achieved something that season. In world of Warcraft for example it was a pain when you would reach the top of your tier raiding, gained the optimal ilevel for your equipment, then if you wanted to pvp, that EPIC gear would get ripped to pieces in no time as you had to factor in things like pvp power and resilience.

Does anyone know the intention of battlegrounds and raiding, will dungeon drops and large scale raid equipment drops be enough to handle battlegrounds, or will we need to grind points to get equipment for battlegrounds to progress to the upper tiers of the pvp circuit.

What do the general members of TESOF think about this??? I am interested to know what people think, as its always bugged me with games requiring you to have two lots of equipment and in some cases where you dual-class 3-4 sets, it can get messy, PvP or PvE, or do away with the different types?

I believe you have the same gear in PvP as in PVE in TESO.

Moved to Off Topic as ESO will be using the same gear for both PvE and PvP.

I know tes has said to not have different pvp specific sets, but I've never seen a game do that without a lot of whining from one side or the other (if its easier to get gear from pvp raiders will complain, if its easier/quicker from raiding pvp'ers will complain), or without breaking progression, having the 2 clear progression paths tends to prevent this. Hopefully ZOS has found a fix for this, because it is a pain having to have 2 sets

That would be welcomed news, if you want to reach the top spots in the game and climb the rankings, you usually have to make a choice with each expansion PvP or PvE, you choice PvE you neglect honor and conquest in other MMOGs, whereas if you choice the battlegrounds and the glory of the arena, you neglect some of the raid experiences that only the most well coordinated of groups can overcome, another way around this was to currency convert with some games where you can spend PvE reward points and change them to PvP reward points, wandering if such system will be introduced into TESO
